I've searched around the forums to see if this has been brought up before and I see that it has, over a year ago. The response then was 'We'll think about it'. I don't know what the results of that have turned up, but recent happenings especially in light of the DA2 fiasco and the general tenor of forum conversations has led me to believe a feature like this is more necessary than ever before.
Essentially, a 'block user' feature that'd allow you not just from avoiding PMs like the current one, but being about avoiding or outright not seeing a user's posts. This is not only just for those who are obvious trolls, but people who we simply do not like to prevent dealing with the same arguments, over and over again, which effects everyone no matter what you're angry with. A lot of rage here would be subsided if we could just pretend certain people did not exist.
Apologies if putting in the request again, even after a year, is bad etiquette - but it seems to me this would be incredibly useful and make everyone's visit to the forums far less headache-inducing.

For those that use Firefox, there's a simple javascript that was written by the lovely Nyoka that works with the Greasemonkey plugin that does exactly what you want. It's not perfect, but I use it and it is absolutely wonderful. It doesn't stop the blocked people from posting comments in status updates, but it does keep the forums clean of the offenders.
You need Greasemonkey to run selected javascripts in firefox. You can get it here: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/748
Then you need the actual script itself: http://www.mediafire...ocjwzn9rzd9krcq
Download the script, edit it yourself to put the user names you don't wish to see anymore in the list near the top, and then add it to the greasemonkey running list. It won't stop folks from quoting the offenders, but it will strip out all posts made by them.
Cheers.

For the record, it also works on Google Chrome (and an updated Chrome already has the greasemonkey integrated, all you need to do is drag the file to an open window). And there's an updated version that also blocks comments in groups:

It sort of works for the feed too, but only when a list hasn't been extended. Once extended all comments show up. Nonetheless, it's an amazing tool and like hooray said, it makes the forum experience (and overall BSN) much nicer.
