The closing conversation with your sibling was probably my favorite touch, honestly. So often you just have your DLC adventure, return home, and it's back to the grind. It was nice to have a character moment at the end of it. A quiet conversation.

P.S. ... friggin GEEEEENLOOOOOOKS!!!!! I miss the days when they were annoying little goblins compared to this.

I loved it, I loved the lore.
I had Varric, Anders and Warden Carver.
Best combo imo.
Humorous hawke and varric are hilarious.

"But, if your looking for eternal youth. I gotta tell you, she's no virgin."

And the emotion between Carver and Hawke is rather sweet, like he wants to say he loves her but he can't.

And the Anders fight shocked me, i was expecting Hawke to like hug him at least D:

Also, Larius' facial expression at the end made me suspicious. "You have freed me" made me think, oh god what have I done? D:

I had Isabella, Merrill and Warden Bethany
i loved the lore, i thought the length of the DLC was a bit disapointing
but hey its a dlc.

i hope DA3 will be a good combination of DA1 and DA2

Guys, seriously!? Are you warden addicted and just cheer if the content is based on them? Everybody who didn't know he/she was going to face one of the tevinter magisters and watched the trailer, simply didn't stay in touche with the plot and the world of dragon age (Thedas + +). Just to repeat myself, 'The acting of the character's wasn't convincing for most of the time. Neither voice, nor animation.'
In addition there were barely any details anywhere, and the fights are entirely based on dodging charge.

I guess i will have to go on like this some time, yet i wish to count me as a critic rather than a hater and the biggest fan of the witches of the wilds!
I would also suggest a gathering of reports for bioware to improve their work in the fans favour.
A big chat for issues or a conversation would do as well if a part of the responsible team could spare an hour some day. So high expectations :(

Despite my many complaints about DA2, I still liked it (If only because it's really one of the only options for fans of group-based medieval RPGs such as myself) and I am interested in DA2 DLC, but I'm not paying 10 dollars for it. I'll wait/hope for the ultimate edition or perhaps for a Steam-style sale, but I fully intend to vote with my wallet against overpriced DLC.

Loved the DLC.Wish DA2 was more along this line. The final boss was eerie and his potential backstory had tons of potential.great story telling which opened up another part of the DA universe.I like the fact bioware had the original roster of companions comeback for more lines of dialogue unlike in DLC packets of the past where minimal interaction with current roster took place.banter was good, acting was great, story was solid, level design was good.bravo bioware.Would gladly pay ten bucks for Dlc of this quality again.

I loved the story and the lore. Overall, its pretty good. My only gripe is at the end. That was more of a lesson in the frustration of pathing problems than a real battle. It would help if they are going to design that as a battleground then adding a bit of an AI tweak to your companions so they don't intentionally run right through the deadly elements would have helped.

I loved the DLC. I thought it was the best the DA DLC crew released. Very touching end and a great response to the fans. Keep up the good work, Bioware.

I'm glad people liked it! I can't wait to try it out myself! I'm saving Dragon Age 2 and Awakening for last except for Mass Effect 2 which will be the very last game I have that I play. I have many more games to play before I play Dragon Age 2. I have Tales of Legendia, Tales of Symphonia DOTNW, Tales of the Abyss, Tales of Vesperia, Alice Madness Returns, Cursed Mountain, Calling, Alan Wake, Catherine, Dead Space 2, and Mortal Kombat. After I beat all those games then I will play Lelianna's Song, Awakening, Dragon Age 2, and Legacy. Then last will be Mass Effect 2 and 3 when it comes out. I love bioware games! I hope we get the next DLC soon. I also hope it's a character driven DLC like Lelianna's Song.

Best DLC in the DA series! 10/10...just awesome. :wizard:

1. Party banter! yey....hilarious....also, touching family moments and even romance acknowledged<3
2. No enemies out of thin air! ^_^....only once I think, and it made sense.
3. Good length for a dlc: 3 hours on casual; 4 on normal
4. Essential lore wise, imo; ending appears to have potential impact on the world
5. Battles more tactical, especially the last one was very cool!
6. Puzzles!!!!<3
7. Nice new areas and places to explore
8. Good replayability, either for achievements or to see differences playing during acts 1-3

+ other cool spoilery things

Excellent job BioWare. Please implement 2, 5-7 better in future games. :)

The Good:
1. No more paratroopers! Granted, the enemies still spawned in entryways, but it created a much more immersive environment then the combat waves of DA2.
2. Speaking of environments, it was refreshing to see non-recycled locations. Especially ones that were full of doom and foreboding.
3. Character/Party Banter was a major win! Several hilarious moments (finding out why Isabela doesn't wear pants, Corypheus=mwahahaha, and a new class I demand to see in DA3!) as well as a tear-jerking finale.
4. The last battle was fantastic. Yes, it got repetitive, but just witnessing the chaos sent a thrill through me.

The Bad:
1. Combat still seemed too ramped up in difficulty (although it was finally more tactical instead of 'killkillkillkill').
2. As of right now, choice seemingly had no effect on the world: side with the Commander or the mage and the same thing happens. Yet another of DA2's hollow choices.
3. The ending. Seriously? Do the writers have no follow-through? Just like DA2, Legacy stumbles down the home stretch.

The Ugly:
1. Hawke's Key. Regardless of class, this is the ugliest POS in the game. It's a shame its one of the more powerful because I'd really rather not use it (much like the Champion armour/robes)
2. Apparently Genlocks aren't corrupted dwarves: they are the result of a Dr. Zaius experiment gone wrong.

All-in-all, one of the better DLCs produced and definitely a hopeful sign for the future of the Dragon Age franchise.

Is it better than Lair of the Shadow Broker from Mass Effect 2?

No. LOTSB is in a whole different league of it's own. However, Legacy is a great DLC worth investing in. Genlocks are no longer laughable green midgets, AI is more tactile and no more waves, you pick up some snazzy Grey Warden armor and upgrade a unique weapon three times, and you're introduced an impressive villain. The story also has it's shades of gray and make morality choices a tad difficult. It's definitely a great addition.

More of the same. Nothing can save this game. Quit trying. Should not have been locked into the quest once started. Another area that cannot be revisted. Loose Gaider. Find someone that can write.

Enjoyed it, but it suffered from the usual problem: not one decision of any consequence.

Really enjoyed the Merrill romance dialogue though, and Grey Warden Bethany rules.

I really enjoyed Legacy. Ive only played it once, really early in the game, with Bethany, Isabella, and Merrill. Next time I'll wait til the end to play it, to see how Bethany might react differently to certain things, and of course to get that romance dialogue I keep hearing about :) . I really enjoyed the conversations with Bethany, they were really great. She was always my favorite party member, its great to not only hear more from her but a LOT more, that alone is worth the price of admission. But its also so much longer than any DA DLC ever, its both the best AND the longest, what a great combination!

So many interesting new areas to explore, the great conversations, the really tough battles, the high level items, it really has everything you could ask for in a DLC. Especially when you consider how short the DA DLCs tended to be, you especially have to like how much longer this one was. And it really had a nice, interesting storyline too, it was quite the mystery, and a surprise revelation at the end, great stuff!

Even if you're like me, you were somewhat disappointed with the main campaign of DA2, you will absolutely LOVE this DLC, its everything you wanted DA2 to be, and hopefully everything that DA3 WILL be. Two thumbs up, and a strong reccomendation to play this DLC, you'll be glad you did!

I just got through my third time with Legacy. I loved the differences between bringing Bethany/Carver. Having Fenris/Anders together (their banter is great) Anders Li stuff. Varric backstory! I loved it. Lots of replayability. I liked the differences you see depending on who you side with (different puzzles, different dialogue, different ambient banter)

It went a bit like this for me:

Anders:  Merrill, please stop looking through my spellbooks at the clinic.  They're private.

Merrill: Oh, I was looking for some 'dirty' spells...

Anders: 'Dirty'' spells...?  What...? For you and Marian...?

Bethany: Please stop this conversation right now!

Merrill: <giggles>

It was worth the DLC price right there for me...

I didn't feel that in Origins or the original Mass Effect.

Nothing in Origins, but you're right there were some good decisions in Mass Effect.

I don't disagree with your overall 'illusion of choice' thing, but I felt that even in Origins, I was having an effect on the story. Harromont/Bhelen, Branka/Caradin, Loghain/Aliastair, elves/werewolves, mages/templars, etc. all felt important to me. Even little things like having Morrighan fight Loghain for me, or romancing Leliana, felt like I was 'subverting' the standard story.

Still don't think any of those had any visible far-reaching impact outside of their respective quests, besides companions sometimes getting butthurt at them. Just my opinion though.
