3 hours average playthrough - playing as mage, warrior, rogue, and bringing different companions along, and testing out the new weapon, this could easily go for 10 hours or more.

I struggled to generate the level of enthusiasm needed to buy this DLC

It would have intrigued me more if it was DLC that filled in story during one of the time skips to tie the acts together a little more.

Legacy will have a big impact on DA3 for me:
- Will there be consequences based on what year you play?
- Will there be major differences in your choices?
- Will the environments be unique?
- Will the wave combat improve?

It's more darkspawn, so that depresses me. But it has taking darkspawn, so it could be interesting. We'll see.

-not likely
-maybe a little
-absolutely(if you havent seen the pics)
-too soon to tell(might be balanced)

Well, some of your comments have been answered. Supposedly there's content for your mother and sibling if they're around when you access the content, so that's a big fat yes to number one. The environments are all unique. And according to Melo, the devs listened about wave combat so there's less of it. The only one we don't know the answer to is number two, but since this is a BioWare game, I'm going to hazard a tentative yes as a guess to that one.

That said, I'm definitely buying this. And, to Bioware, it was a great job making this longer than the average Origins dlc. I enjoyed them, but they were pretty short outside of Awakening. Also, just from the trailer, I want to find out if this guy has any relation to The Architect (Probably does, but he may not), why he was imprisoned instead of killed (This guy must have been insanely strong if no Grey Warden could kill him, if that was the reason), and other things.

Would you really pay for a DLC just to find out that the hero got killed?
.....
*takes back question before people say yes*

I'll be interested to read player reviews of it. The longer length is a better value proposition for those who will enjoy it.
Aside from that, I simply didn't enjoy enough about DA2 to want more of it. I honestly wouldn't even want it if it were free. No disrespect to the devs: it's just how I feel. I would, however, be interested in more dlc for origins.

Obviously the playthrough length will change by playstyle and preference but I'd say you're probably going to average at least three hours on your first time through. If you're a true completion it'll be more, especially if I tell you there is an easter egg in it and you don't use the internet to cheat and look up how to get it
Aside from Exiled Prince, all other DLC is playable at any time in the game, including from the Post-Campaign save.
Is the easter egg going to be "button-awesome" being said repeatedly and we won't be able to get it off of our screen unless we turn off the game?
because that would make me lol.

Thank you for telling me that. Three hours sounds fine to me. I am an extremely slow player. Three hours for a normal person usually ends up as five hours for me, not counting the constant reloading I do to hear every dialogue option.
Dragon Age 2 took me around 100 hours!

i will buy it, as usually like Bioware and we need to give them money to get DA3 to the level of what DA2 should have been

it's kinda funny that people talk about "cliched storyline" when the basic of dao were pretty much every high fantasy novel ever. and you know what? it didn't detract from it. let's come off that.
Agreed. I'm sick of people whining about it when the when the whole reason DA2's storyline was crap was because they were tryng to *avoid* cliche. It's not a concept that's inherently negative.
I personally think focusing on Hawke's lineage is a great idea. Yes, it's unoriginal, yes, it's been done a hundred times before.... so what? One of the big issues with Hawke is that he's a bystander. Shifting Hawke into the limelight sounds like a good call.
