In the Q&A on Gamespot. it has new mobs, weapons the can be upgraded with multiple stats, new area to explore(warden prison) but yeah still couple old mobs fight but still should be stuff we haven't seen, and the story is about hawk father or related to him. Depend on the price really if I'm getting or not.

$9.99 for PS3 and 800 points for PC/360. I agree that the trailer is not that impressive, but like the proverb says, "don't judge a book by its cover."

Recycled what? Areas? They've already said these are wholly new areas. Sure the textures are the same but its unreasonable to expect all the textures to be redone for a dlc and really the only textures that are poor is the woodpanel looking stone in the darktown areas.

Personally, I'm going to wait for a bit more information before making my judgments. I am not usually a DLC person anyway, but depending on what else I hear, I might give this a chance. I loved my mage Hawke and I want another reason to pick him up again. On top of that, it's an area outside Kirkwall. What more could you ask for?

Funny, cause you've been forced to pay 10$ just to see Hawke leave Kirkwall.

I don't like the darkspawn, but I will wait to see what others say. I am not saying "no, definitely not." I am intrigued.

I think it's going to be amazing. I'll write a full review on the DLC when I get it

And I thank you for that! In advance. I am just a little gun shy, as it were. But I can't wait to read what you and others think before I make my decision. *hugs in advance*

Agreed with Savber100, and honestly the way they're trying to make Hawke's lineage important (and Hawke him/herself important as a result) looks cheap and cliche'd, and force-fed into our mouths. I'm tired of Hawke. Give us the Warden again, or more feasibly, a new NON-HUMAN protagonist

Plus, is that the Architect? I know that's a stupid question, but when they mention original talking darkspawn, that's what I automatically assume. I seriously hope it isn't the Architect, because i don't want the choice to kill him retconned for those who picked that choice, and I want his story expanded in a sequel rather than small DLC.

Yep, unless I see good reviews, I'm definitely not getting this.

If you did a search you would find a post from a developer that said it was NOT the architect.

yes..they just recycled the model ...nice example of the lesson they learned :P

Technically you could ask for it for free... or even to be the length of an Act in the base game.... :P

I will be very skeptical of DA2 DLC because I didn't really like the base game. If Bioware shows a commitment to change I will consider it.

Well, this DLC is supposed to address what everyone complained about. Three hours seems decent for a DLC I guess. A new area outside of Kirkwall seems good because it won't be "recycled". I'm also guessing that this is about Darkspawn because the majority of people prefered the atmosphere of Dragon Age: Origins? (Grey Wardens/Darkspawn/etc.) I guess Bioware is going in the right step if their trying to address what everyone else complains about. It shows that Bioware is listening at least Image IPB.

They're listening, yeah, but only time will tell if that means anything. I mean, can you imagine what the response would have been if the new DLC was set in Darktown or something? It's not like they needed to listen carefully to know how well that would bomb....

A DLC set in Darktown that we'd have to pay for even though the area is from the main game? Shhhhh, don't give Bioware any ideas! :P

maybe not recycled but it looks as boring and straight forward as it did in DA2, there is one long corridor and thats it, I want huge open areas, I want exploration that makes my head spin, not this goddam awful console ****fest that whole DA2 was!

I'm not gonna get it right away, because I already know that it will be overpriced for my preferences.
I know the price will drop off eventually, or it will be all bundled into a ultimate edition like they did with Origins.
Now we play the waiting game...

Heh, well, to be fair, it's been a while since I've seen a developer so taken aback by the response they've gotten from the fans. That whole farce with incognito reviews and Laidlaw apparently trying to claim anyone who disliked anything about the game was just living in the past - really, all that drama spoke volumes of the fact that the devs have taken a lot of the criticism to heart. I mean, let's get real - I don't recall Casey Hudson frantically running around telling everyone how Mass Effect was awesome and anyone who didn't think so was wrong - he just let the game's reviews do the talking.

My worry is a lot of what went wrong with DA2 was so blatantly obviously going to go wrong that it worries me as to how the dev team are going to fix it. Having to traverse the same dungeon was essentially the same complaint that the guys got from the first Mass Effect, so why on earth did they think that would work here? It makes me wonder what they're going to do next, and I'm frankly not confident that whatever they choose will be the right to go.

Still, this DLC looks like it's taking a step in the right direction. The question is whether it'll go far enough. I'm all for DLCs, but I'm not going to wait around forever for them to patch up DA2's shortcomings.

I doubt that they did it on purpose. They had to do it as a "rush-job" to make sure the other elements of the game were complete for the launch date.

Possibly. Though I'd have to question why this 'rush-job' element was so virtually non-existent in ME2. My feelings are that they just didn't think it would cause that much of an issue.... which, if it's true, they completely misunderstood what their fans were after, and it calls into question whether or not they're honestly going to know what to do to take the series forward.

I'll go with a wait and see policy, bad enough i wasted $20on the castlevania dlc (i already bought the 1st one stupidly and then i HAD to buy the 2nd despite knowing it'd suck, ugh -__- damkn you completionist!)

But for DA, this is more an issue cause of how blandly the origins DLC was handeled (yay recycled areas~!) combined with DA2 (yay even MORE recycled areas!) and while this DLC is all "oh we finaly learned recycling was bad, really you guys!" it's kind of too little too late

So far the only real incentive to buy this at some point (not day 1, after i see the reactions) is i can split the cost with my sister, that's pretty much it, DA2 killed alotta my interest already

I don't know, maybe they had more development time for Mass Effect II, or a more efficient/better/bigger team working at it.

P.S. They should really fix this quote of quote thing. When I quote a message I only wanna quote the last reply, no point in quoting the whole discussion. <_<

To be honest, I think this game can be "saved" with a very well done expansion that also applies some "backwards" changes to the gameplay of the original game, and that adds at least 20 hours of solid gameplay.
If anything, I'd suggest the drop of DLC development, but from a business perspective I can understand that profit margins are a lot higher with DLCs than with an expansion...
