We learn in ME2 that the Rachni Queen will rally the Rachni to aid Shepard fight those who 'soured' the song of the Rachni in the Rachni Wars. A huge ally basically, don't save the Queen, lose a huge ally...makes sense I guess...but the Renegade option is crap here, anyone else agree?

And what if say the reapers somehow indoctrinate the queen of the Rachni AGAIN?

I hope its bad and good. If you get rachni it locks you out of recruiting another race that hates them.

So if your paragon you can get everyone same if your renegade.

Hmm...that would be an interesting twist.

Either way not saving her is losing content.

Rachni Queen: We're hear to help! We will sing...
Harbinger: Your form is fragile, PEW PEW!
Rachni Queen: *Explodes*

I think people are making a big deal out of nothing, the rachni aren't going to make a lick of difference.

You don't know that.

As someone attempting a renegade play-through of both games right now, I find it very difficult to objectively view the renegade options as beneficial. Killing the rachni queen could mean fighting against less rachni abominations but it also means having less normal rachni fighting with you. At least, that's the only middle-ground I see in that situation.

Even if indoctrinated, I don't think a few thousand bugs will be a huge threat to the galactic community.

She (a queen) can basically create a new colony in a matter of days, according to researchers on Peak 15, so 2 ½ to 3 years means a lot of Rachni.

The lore says that its only the salarians finding and recruiting the krogan that allowed the rachni wars to be won, so i'd disagree and say they are very much a threat

They're not going to matter in the long run,  they won't neccesarily be swatted like a fly...  but,  in the long run they'll just be there.  You may get a nice little dialogue at the end of the game though.

I'd say that everyone who made the call of killing her on Noveria should be very proud of themselves.

although, didnt the krogan have to be called upon to get rid of the rachni in the rachni wars????

the rachni are prolly a better ground force then any other species.

well i guess they wont be the only ones with one hit melee attacks tho, thanks omnibladesaber.

I agree with Angelic. If that were the case (the rachni making a difference) renegades would be utterly screwed. The Illusive man will have a collector base, Shep wont have any rachni friends, anddd nobody will like you once its all over because you're a bigot who killed the council. :c

Hey,  MOST of my renegades don't save the council because they'd rather make sure that the alliance could toss everything they had at Harbinger.

I do have one that's a bit of a trollololol and did it for human dominance though.

I don't think past decisions will ultimately be that important in deciding the chance of success.  Everyone who starts a new game will probably be able to "win" and it's unlikely that Shepard will fail to stop the Reapers.  The default ME2 playthrough has mostly Renegade choices so even if the decisions really are important then letting the Queen die should be fine at least.

If past decisions are essential to victory, I vote for Conrad to be the key to defeating the Reapers.

I hope that they help you in the fight against the reapers -- but there will be TONS of rachni soldiers indoctrinated that you fight against.

My Conrad is dead :(

Anyway no in the grander scheme of things past decisions won't break anything, say f.example Mordin is dead, another scientist does his job albeit with more female krogan dead in the trials, same if you destroyed the genophage cure more will die in the cure, but it will be cured no less.

There will be good and bad for either option.

Saving Queen:

Good: Rachni support.
Bad: Rachni indoctrinated enemies.

Destroying Queen:
Good: No Rachni indoctrinated enemies
Bad: No Rachni support

All in all...I can imagine the renegade option as being underwhelming.

I'm hoping he appears in ME3 regardless of what happened in previous games.

Shepard: Conrad? I thought you were dead!
Conrad: I got better.

I'd love that. Bioware! Do this!
