Not saving the Rachni Queen is a bad idea...obviously for ME3.

Dark side in KOTOR did it rather well for it's briefness.

For example: When you went to Korriban, if you've killed Juhani, you'd meet her lover and she'd be absolutely furious at you.

Quote didn't work but it was a response to dead people not being able to respond to your choice.

Why not?  Paragons get pat on the back often enough,  why not renegades?  I know that pargons like to have their feather in their cap but renegades could use some praise.

I thought the idea of playing Renegade was to not give a rats behind about what people think.

Making predictions regarding the Rachni is pointless. Nobody knows the story line in ME3 and therefore nobody knows if the Rachni will be an enemy or an ally. Maybe the paragons fouled up and created a whole new threat to deal with. Maybe the renegades threw away an ally. The point is that nobody knows and it is a crapshoot.

I say play as you will and deal with the consequences of your actions. If you try to outsmart the game by anticipating the plot, I don't think that you are doing yourself any favors because there is no guarantee that you will be right.

On my "Main" shep i did alot of choices that i think would improve my ME3 playthruogh. save the giant bug on noveria and do convert the heretics to original "legion" geth. i hope they will stand with me in ME3. I allso stayed very true to the alliance through ME2.

What if a companion's death is tied to the Rachni being alive. If a group of Rachni are indoctrinated and Grunt or Wrex die trying to recreate the Krogan's past victory over the Rachni, isn't that significant? It might not be a matter of missed content, you might not like the content, or the consequences you unlock.

At least one of these big 'It seems like a good idea at the time' decisions from previous games will come back to bite us in the rump.....mark my words.

Rachni Queen, "Ha ha ha they had me, in a tank.....with acid and I just made up some lame story and the dumb human bought it!....kill them.....kill them all!"

or the Krogan cure.

Mordin: Shepard, Korgan cure administered on your orders, populations rising, unchecked, fertility has never been better. One problem, Krogans have switched sides and want revenge on all of our races....(breathhhhhhhe).. problematic.

Well, i believe if you save Rachni you'll get some really powerfull ally, but as we saw some pics showing rachni husks we also will face some nasty foe. And it's possible that niether Turians nor Krogan will ally you because of that. Or it will be dificult to make consensus.

What the hell were you people expecting? Santa Clause? This is Bioware. Come on they practically look up TV tropes for their stories and stick to the goody two shoes path as being teh best.

I think the fact that we know there are going to be Rachni Husks is fairly telling...

Even Renegade Shepard tends to be a Jerk with a Heart of Gold.

It's also possible that they could implement a system similar to the final battle in DA:O , depending on how you approached the game you were able to call upon reinforcements in the battle to get to the Archdemon .

This would mean that if you saved the Rachni Queen then you could call on help from the Rachni but certain other races would be unavailable to you , this would mean that you weren't missing on any content whether you saved them or not , it would also increase replay value.

Did you take a look at the Game Informer and Xbox World Magazine scans?

Perhaps I am playing renegade wrong,  but, my cannon Shepard isn't a jerk.  She's made choices,  lethal choices,  and she has to live with them.  She thinks that what she did is right, even if what she has done was harsh, but,  it would be nice if someone showed their support.  Hell,  she's killed people...  give her a scene where someone wants revenge.

I think it's silly though that Paragon's take the high road and they constantly get patted on the back.  Do they really need that ass tap and a "Good Game Bro."  Shouldn't the satisfaction of a job well done be enough for them?  See I can turn it around too.

I'm wondering if my Renegade Shep shouldn't go back and save the rachni in order to leverage them against the Council after the war. I wonder if such a thing would even be possible, or if Bioware will simply use them as a redemption story where the former monsters are turned into good guys and everyone holds hands and sings kumbaya.

Although I'd love to see that in action, it's probably going to be the latter. Posted Image

It's really too bad Shepard can't save the rachni and then simply omit their existence from his report. Wouldn't that be a pleasant surprise.

My Renegon Shep spared the queen, kept the genophage data and rewrote the heretics to use them as allies against the "Reapers and beyond" but yeah it''ll prolly just end up being nothing but kumbaya nonsense.

If you allowed wrex to die but gave them the cure that would be a good ending to the Krogan subplot actually. But if you let wrex live and did the loyalty mission (showed your badassness) then the Krogan should look upon you awe and respect.

What is never explained is why on Luna in ME1, you can hear the Rachni sound play on top of a mountain? How would they be in our solar system?

Dammit marshalleck, now I got an image of Shepard and a load of different alien species (including the Rachni Queen) sat around a camp fire after the Reapers have been thwarted singing kumbaya!!!

To quote one of the enemy lines from ME...

"I WILL DESTROY YOU!"
