I don't need their help, so I killed her, and plus they could also become husks.
Not saving the Rachni Queen is a bad idea...obviously for ME3.

If all the races I didn't commit genocide on come back in ME3 to bite me in the rear...

The devs have been promising us that players won't suffer for their choices. The story will simply play out differently. Significantly differently if they are to be taken on their word. This means killing the queen can't be a really bad idea.
I'm really curious how choices like this will play out, because while I agree that players who killed the queen should still have interesting consequences to deal with, there should also be choices that matter, that can have utterly devastating consequences. Otherwise choices wouldn't really matter anymore.

I think people are making a big deal out of nothing, the rachni aren't going to make a lick of difference.
"a lick of difference?"
You clearly didn't have to deal with the Rachni on insanity in ME1. Those f*ckers were tough as sh*t. Two hits from their acid spit and you were dead; no matter what armor you had on. Personally I'd rather deal with a Krogan battlemaster then a Rachni. Having them as an ally would be extremely beneficial IMO in terms of ground forces and maybe a temporary squad mate.
They are one of the more underated races in the galaxy IMO.

It's not the level of power or sheer bad assery. It's just getting lulzy with Paragons running around saying either the rachni/Shiala/ or some other tiny role are the keys to Victory. Truthfully, you may get another cinematic, a few lines of dialogue, or a epilogue statement. It's not going to matter if you save them as you will be able to do exactly the same thing without them.
