Easy, Sam Mendes!

He manages to make you sympathise with characters you should hate, just like ME..

I revise my previous statement. Michael Bay should be restricted just to the action scenes. I really don't trust him to pull off any kind of meaningful emotional stuff. Bay is unmatched when it comes to liberal use of explosions though, so that should definitely be employed.

christopher nolan maybe yes but he is far too focused in characters not the best choice for a space movie
i'd say Ridley Scott coz Alien ....perfectly balanced story and environment

Well let's see. What from Mass Effect would definitely end up in a movie?

>Space ships, Aliens, gunfights, a big special effects budget, battles, probably the Mako, snide renegade remarks.

What should also be in the movie to make it more true/better?

> Interpersonal drama, a few long discussions over a moral quandry, smattering of intergalactic politics, issues of trust, a well developed romance.

Who can handle the first if you don't care too much?

> Michael Bay, JJ Abrams, Matt Reeves, Zack Snyder

Who could handle both sides?

> Ronald D. Moore, Christopher Nolan (maybe), Gore Verbinski

Who would I want?

John Carpenter.

Who will actually do it?

Probably like some tool no one is happy with . . . Brett Ratner.

Seeing how good he did directing Megan Fox in Transformers, I agree 100%! Assuming direct control will revolutionze the cinema!

Duncan Jones.

He has dipped his feet into video game writing in the past, and his first two movies as a director (Source Code and Moon) have been really good Sci Fi IMO.

Guillermo Del Torro would be my first choice however, but I dunno if EA will shell out the $$$$ for him.

Please no Michael Bay though.

If they can wait till the Avengers is done, I think Joss Whedon would be an excellent choice. He's proven he can combine action, humor, drama and interesting characters in a big sci-fi universe.

GdT is a good choice, but I would go with Alfonso Cauron. Children of Men. Awesome.

That's what I've been saying ever since they announced the movie.
