.
aw what no!
1 Anything affecting storyline in a game should be IN Game.
2 comics are out dated no one reads them.
3 Should be DLC. (better than arrival and shadow broker (or on par))

I love how people voice their opinion as if it were a proven fact. There sure are alot of overly critical people in here but that's strictly my opinion. I enjoyed the books ,and they are most certainly not awful as some people here would lead you to believe. I'd personally love to see some of those characters make appearances in ME 3. Especially Kahlee Sanders, Anderson deserves it!

I enjoyed the books. They provided a different viewpoint and expanded on the lore. The characters were also intriguing. I like Kahlee quite a bit, unlike some it would seem. She definitely has the highest chance of being in ME3 out of all the novel characters. I'd put money on it, in fact. She plays a major role in the first 3 books, and will in Deception as well by the sound of things.

Aside from her, I really hope Gillian and Hendel make it in.

I'd rather the characters from the books be kept far away from the game.

I would like to see gillian in mass effect 3. she should be one of the more powerful biotics i think; maybe more powerful then jack? she should have singularity, throw, warp and shockwave. that would work if gillian is older during the events of mass effect 3 but i don't know her age in relation to the games. and a good dlc opportunity would be a playable mission to recruit kahlee sanders from the ascension project. i don't know how she would operate in combat but it could be a good idea

I know.

Maybe the writers can actually fix them, who knows.

I wanna kill Kai Leng, only one person with that level of badassness is allowed to exist, and that is Shepard.

delving a bit deeper i've learned *spoiler* (i guess) that the fourth book will be about gillian attempting to hunt down TIM for revenge on killing her father... not sure if that was old news or not but it could play an interesting role in ME3 if that ends up being an option... going after TIM that is.

To be honest. I bought all the books and -TO ME- they sucked, the characters and the dialogue were the worst, I hated them all, I couldn't believe I was reading Drew Karpyshyn at all. And well, to hear that -at the very least- one of their characters would make it into ME3 (Kai Leng) made me roll my eyes.

Still, even when I'm really biased towards this decision of BioWare, I hope his role and development in the game will be significantly better than his role and development in the book. Or that he just happens to be one random cameo "sub-boss" that only the fans who has read the books or knows about them will know who he is.

If it were up to me, I'd do my best to keep all the ominous characters from the books out of ME3.

Kahlee Sanders is one of the most blatant Mary Sues I have ever seen outside of a fanfic.

In fact, the novels read like a bad fanfic.

1.The novels add more depth to the ME universe.

2.I don't see who people see her as a Mary Sue.......She worse. She a damsel in distress. :P

I can see why people don't like Kahlee, though personally I think the hatred is a little excessive. She's not even that decisive in the books. I actually like her the best in Ascension because she gives me reasons to dislike her. She's not a perfect person in that one.

How's that, when they manage to completely stay with the already established story and rules of the universe?

Compare that to the Lazarus Project and the filler baddies the Collector were.

Either Gillian or Khalee, or both. Khalee is with Anderson as of the end of Retribution, and since we know Anderson is there, chances are she will be there just the same. Gillian is a possibility, but I can't predict much before reading Deception which comes out January.

might not be that easy haha :P

from reading the books we learn he is one of the most accomplished human soldiers cerberus has... killing a krogan in a bar with nothing but a knife and again killing 6 armed turian commandos with nothing but a knife and a pistol (not even a shirt)

Cerberus is clearly important to the plot of Mass Effect, and many book characters - Gillian, Kai Leng, Kahlee Sanders and Paul Grayson - are heavily tied to not only Cerberus, but other factions like Aria and the Quarians.

Also, given that Kai Leng is appearing I imagine most of the book characters will appear because they are all tied together.

From the ME books I've red only Retribution, and Kahlee was just horrible. For now I like Harbinger more.
About Gillian... first, how old is she? 16? Too young to fight Reapers in Shepard's team for my taste. Second, rare human squadmate isn't exceptional biotic - Kaidan is very strong because he's L2, Miranda because she's engineered to be perfect, Jack because of Cerberus. Even Jacob is going to hit with a good... I kid, I kid. So maybe it's time to finish giving player more and more powerful human biotics and let Jack be the only in "freaking powerful" league?

Dunno,I'm not a fan of Kahlee either, but I would like to see her anyway, she has quite a history.
As for other book characters,I definitely want to see Kai Leng and Gillian (not as squadmate).
And who else is there, all other major characters are dead so I guess that's it.

Shepard (Especially FemShep) is a bigger Mary Sue than Kahlee could ever hope to be. She came back from the dead, can headbutt a Krogan and do god-knows what else. Cyborg, or not...

I liked the books as well, and I wouldn't mind seeing the charcters in ME3. They were no worse than the ones in the actual game.
