Here's to hoping they don't ruin my favorite ME character.

Wheeeeee, tangent!

It's too bad a real Aeon Flux film would likely never get made due to it getting tagged with an NC-17 rating. :(

Same here, TIM getting character assassinated and more lopsided morality bull**** will render ME3 non-canon right on the spot for me.

If he is ruined, I am hoping for the option of having my Shepard lead Cerberus or found a similar organization.

That wouldn't be a bad alternative but it wouldn't be the same without the boss. :(

Yeah. Shepard as the new leader of Cerberus alongside with Liara being the SB would be one my ideal endings.

Better yet, killing her and controlling both Cerberus and being the Shadow Broker.

Too bad she regressed into being another one of Shepard's guns for hire in ME3.

There could be severel reasons for that. One popular theory is that TIM has managed to destroy the SB base by the time we get Liara as squadmember. Wiping out the SB would be an ideal first strike for TIM.

Meh, it just defeats the purpose of going through all that trouble of killing the Shadow Broker and making her the replacement. The whole thing reeks of the devs wanting her to be center stage again.

Cannot really argue against that. Perhaps they justifies it by having her manage to find the clue to the deus ex machina before the base is destroyed. But this is getting off-topic.

Image showing a halo behind TIM's head proving that he's a messenger from the almighty.

Those who destroyed the Collector base not only angered him but God herself! Beware sinners!

I approve TIM as a character. Always. Such an interesting guy in the games. I like to pretend Evolution never existed and make my origin as how Cerberus was born.

My main Shepard is a Paragade who gave him the Collector Base, if he really turns on me, he better be ready for what's coming to him though.

Very little of the comics and books is acknowledged in the games so no trouble there.

I would like to point out that according to IMDB the Illusive man will have two VA. One is Martin Sheen (rumoured) and the other Jon Briddell (filming and looks like him). I am a bit worried about that. If this has been mentioned before, sorry.

http://www.imdb.com/...ullcredits#cast

EDIT: On second look Jon Briddell is one of the few that don't have the (voice) caption next to him. Live action footage of the Illusive Man?

 Now that would be interesting...though I wonder how strict the guidelines for getting data approved for IMDB is. I know they verify everything that is submitted to some degree.

OT, I've never heard of Jon Briddell before but when I saw those pictures of him on IMDB the first words I thought were, "ooo, hot." XD

The Illusive Man - Jack Harper... After reading some post in this thread and thinking of the man himself. How we knew him in Mass Effect 2 and how he is an unknown factor in ME 3.We all want to know,"What is he playing at?!"
It never occured to me, that he could be a potential Love Interest for FemShep. The more I hear it.The more I like the sound of it. Thank you for mentioning that seboist...

If T.I.M. (and FemShep) had a Theme Song (Of thier relationship and his character) I think this one would work:

Sarah McLachlan - Building A Mystery

You come out at night
That's when the energy comes
And the dark side's light
And the vampires roam
You strut your rasta wear
And your suicide poem
And a cross from a faith that died
Before Jesus came
You're building a mystery

You live in a church
Where you sleep with voodoo dolls
And you won't give up the search
For the ghosts in the halls
You wear sandals in the snow
And a smile that won't wash away
Can you look out the window

Image IPB
Without your shadow getting in the way?

You're so beautiful
Image IPB
With an edge and charm

but so careful
When I'm in your arms

Cause you're working
Building a mystery
Holding on and holding it in
Yeah you're working
Building a mystery
And choosing so carefully

Image IPB

You woke up screaming aloud
A prayer from your secret god
You feed off our fears
And hold back your tears, oh
Give us a tantrum
And a know it all grin
Just when we need one
When the evening's thin

You're a beautifulImage IPB
A beautiful f*cked up man

You're setting up your
Razor wire shrine

Cause you're working
Building a mystery
Holding on and holding it in
Yeah you're working
Building a mystery
And choosing so carefully

Ooh you're working
Building a mystery
Holding on and holding it in
Yeah you're working
Building a mystery
And choosing so carefully

Yeah you're working
Building a mystery
Holding on and holding it in
Yeah you're working
Building a mystery
And choosing so carefully

You're building a mystery

TIM(and to a slightly lesser extent Zaeed) would be the ultimate renegade femshep romance no question.

Although if you ask me TIM would be the ideal romance for ALL femsheps. He's charming, charismatic, attractive, wealthy and powerful. He has everything to make a woman happy.

It depends on how you perceive your character, I'd say. A full Paragon, for example, would probably rather strangle him with his own intestines, but that's just my take on it. Hell, my Shep started out hating him -and everything he stood for- with the burning passion of a thousand fiery suns. (She got over it.)

I do think he's one of the only characters -on your side, anyway- who could go toe-to-toe with Commander Shepard, and this is part of what makes him so attractive to me. I really dislike an uneven distribution of power when it comes to love interests, which may be why my Canon Shep never went after any of the ones Bioware had to offer. They always seemed to be standing in Shepard's shadow.

TIM, on the other hand, appears to be the perfect foil. This is, as Seboist pointed out, particularly evident if you're playing Renegade (or Renegon, in my case). If I may borrow from a trope, they pretty much encapsulate the idea of 'Red Oni, Blue Oni'. Allow me to paraphrase.

The Red Oni -associated with passion, wildness, and defiance- is (of course) Commander Shepard. Although often as intelligent as his or her counterpart, this archetype is much more emotionally driven, impulsive, and physical. Whereas the blue oni puts a lot of focus onto higher goals, causes, or codes of behavior, the red is usually more concerned with people- thus, (s)he often comes across as the more humanitarian of the two.

The Blue Oni -intellectual, proud, and cultured- is the Illusive Man, Shepard's polar opposite. They are strategic where the Red Oni is direct; calm and composed where the other is reactionist. While often respected by others, Blue Oni archetypes are difficult to read, and often have a mysterious or unfathomable quality to them. When written as villains, they're usually utterly ruthless- ready to do or sacrifice anything (and often anyone) in order to accomplish their goals.

****. Am I making any kind of logical sense? I'm posting this at midnight and I've been at work all day, so I have to wonder if anything that sounds good in my head is translating to the screen in a coherent fashion. This could be several paragraphs of nothing but 'e's, for all I know.

...Anyway, backtracking for a moment to the TIM/FemShep debate, I've become so tied up in their dynamic that I have a hard time picturing my Shep with anyone else. FOREVER ALONE
Naturally, being a Sole Survivior, this is the source of a lot of friction on her end. Admitting that you've developed feelings for the man who indirectly massacred your unit, and slapped you with a boatload of emotional trauma, has got to sting.
All hail the Masochism Tango. >.>

Sounds like your Shep has battered wife syndrome!

It's too bad ME2 doesn't allow Shepard to confront/question TIM about the whole Akuze incident. It would have made for a very personal anti-Cerberus playthrough or a very interesting pro-Cerberus one where Shepard has a "twisted" sense of appreciation for making him/her into the person s/he is.
