What's that now? You acknowledge that TIM will die then?

We're

and it's got me thinking, what if we're forced to reform Cerberus but
don't have to eliminate The Illusive Man to do so? He isn't likely to
share power quite so easily, I doubt we're going to see him simply step
back but imagine where you'd rise up and become his equal in terms of
strength (possibly with Miranda).

You'd have the three heads of Cerberus:
Miranda would be the one in charge of projects.
TIM would be in charge of finances and politics.
Shepard would be the enforcer.

I
wouldn't want Miranda to be anywhere near a "reformed" Cerberus. If my
Cerberus Shepard has her way Miri and Oriana will find themselves
scatttered through-out several dumpsters in Juarez.

What's your beef w/ Miranda? Her outfit wasn't provactive enough? And why are you gonna hurt her sister who absolutely has nothing to do w/ Cerberus in the first place?

Actually, I found her outfit TOO provactive but that's not the point. Her loyalty to the cause wavered and now my Shepard will make her and everyone she holds dear pay for it.

Mass Effect 3 has a Jade Empire-esque ending where you sacrifice yourself for TIM? :P

My Shepard would sacrifice herself and her entire crew(including a romanced Zaeed!) to save him.

At some point you're just gonna have to deal w/ it and put down TIM. It's for the greater good. Deep down you know that the galaxy will be a better place w/o TIM. You can then observe a moment of silence for him once you've taken him down.

Yeah, no. I'm not seeing how humanity losing one of it's only defenders (more so if you killed the Council) making the galaxy better.

Oh, as if humanity would ever need TIM after the Reapers have been dealt w/ and not everyone is dead. He will be redundant after that. He can either surrender or die. If he surrenders he will be sent to space Guantanamo and waterboarded  there, b/c torture seems to be perfectly acceptable in the ME universe.

Oh, well then that makes sesne then in a completely irrational way. Needs to kill someone at the drop of a hat. I'm sure that Miranda will go to ground to hide from your femShep. She'll probably hideout in Omega as a stripper.

Actually, no, I don't know that. At all.
But if the game forces my hand and it's the only way I can complete Mass Effect 3, then... Well, I have a feeling my canon Shep is going to spend the rest of her life feeling like chick Craig Boone.

I play Infiltrator, you see. It's one thing to rain a hail of bullets down upon a battlefield, or Biotic Charge your way around the screen while howling in glee and bludgeoning things with your shotgun.

It's an entirely different thing to crouch, cloaked, behind cover, staring at a man you respect and admire, through a rifle scope. And then pulling the trigger, because from a gamepoint perspective, it's the only thing you can do.

I can't speak for Shepard, of course, but that kind of setup would absolutely destroy me.
It wouldn't even have to be TIM; it could be any of the characters I gre attached to, which is to say most of them. I hate hurting people I care about, even if those people are made of pixels.

He won't be redundant, the entire galaxy will be filled with Reaper tech and the Council will either forbid it or hinder it from being fully researched. You'd have other groups, alien or mercenary, researching the tech behind the scenes and master it before applying it's many uses for themselves.

Cerberus researching Reaper tech without safety precautions and without restrictions allows humanity to possibly advance at a faster pace, if they'd fail we'd be on the same page as everybody else and if they succeed then all of humanity benefits for the technological advancements.

What would occur if the Alliance is too lazy to study indoctrination and the STG masters it behind the scenes? They'd be at a far greater disadvantage

The Collector Base is simply a headstart in the research department.

You give TIM far too little credit. He has his gun, you have yours, and the time to draw is approaching...

He can insert his gun into my femshep's holster anyday. <3

 They should hire you to supply metaphors for romantic conversations. Garrus' one in particular could benefit from a little more directness.

I was going to make a long argument about Cerberus, but now I can't remember what I wanted to say.

Right. Or people will end up becoming indoctrinated. We all know what happens to people who spend to much time studying Reaper tech.

They defeat the Reapers.

Protheans studying Reaper tech helped stop Sovereign.
Humanity and Turians studying Reaper tech helped in defeating the Collectors.

First, we don't know that TIM is fighting FOR the Reapers. Maybe it's all just a part of his plan to protect humanity. I trusted him. I still do.

Next, we don't know if the war is going to end in ME3. Maybe it's just the beginning of the war of attrition. Cerberus is much, much more competent and better informed than the Council. The Council proved themselves unable to defend the galaxy.

And last, even if the war ends, it doesn't mean that we'll never see another external threat. If Cerberus doesn't stand on guard against the darkness beyond, protecting humanity from the aliens, nor humanity is enhanced with Reaper tech, then we're back to the status quo before the game. "We aren't going to risk a war for a few dozens human colonies."

Nobody cares about humanity, nobody would listen to us because we don't have the firepower to back up our Councilor, and our colonies are going to be wiped out either by new aggressive aliens like rachni, or by our competitors, or just by thugs. We'll be too weakened after the war.

Relying on the mercy of aliens for protection and having our own power is not the same. We can only make alliance with them as equals, not as supplicants.

Things sure didn't turn out too well for Ashley on Virmire when my Shepard suspected her of trying to take her man Kaidan away from her.

This has always crossed my mind about choosing the name Cerberus.  TIM seems to be the only prominent "head" of the group.  Are there others in charge with equal power for other tasks?  Could you be onto something there with Miranda and Shep?  Or maybe, the more likely truth, TIM just chose it because the name sounded cool.

Hell NO.

FemShep is a cougar. She only cares for younger men (and women, in my case).

I mean, Martin Sheen is hot and everything, but... no. Just a bit too old for my tastes.

The Illusive Man is trying to find everlasting youth with Reaper nanites, possibly to hook up with CougarShep?

Also I've been listening to my Renegade Shepard's "theme song" and feel it applies to TIM, more so after Evolution when Ben and Eva died.

She's only thirty-one. How much "younger" does she like her partners? That doesn't leave a large margin of age. And doesn't it suck to restrict her choices only to younger people? I'm guessing asari are not for you, then.

But I agree that Shepard does have a tendency to look for romances to underlings rather than equals.

Probably the only thing appealing me to the Ashley romance in ME3 (Spectre + Ex-Spectre? Hawt) and Kelly (She's a subordinate but really doesn't grovel at Shepard's feet).

Endurance. :-)

Plus, as for charm, charisma, and power, Shepard already has those in buckets. Looks depends on the player, but most of the time Shepard won't loose out to TIM. As for money, there is no limit really as long as Shepard don't run out of thermo clips and can still say "This is my favorite store."

Shepard has no equal.

And Liara is effectively like, 19.

Judging my TIM's files, he's got more than enough endurance...
