But I agree that Shepard does have a tendency to look for romances to underlings rather than equals.

Probably the only thing appealing me to the Ashley romance in ME3 (Spectre + Ex-Spectre? Hawt) and Kelly (She's a subordinate but really doesn't grovel at Shepard's feet).

Liara hardly grovels at Shepard's feet either.

He won't have any left after my Shepard gets through with him. <3

Hopefully I'll be able to reanact this scene from Witcher 2 between them.

Ah, the impending neck snap?

Yeah. Perhaps his eyes are not the only part of him that is cybernetically enhanced.

Still, if you have a look at TIM's recent flings, none of them fits in the same category as FemShep. They're... just not each other's type. I prefer to think of TIM as a friend and advisor.

To quote King Henselt in Witcher 2 "Every wench dreams of being ploughed by a king" , in this case it's by an Illusive Man.

Where did you get that idea?

I agree with laecraft and Seboist that TIM is indeed a very attractive man. I just don't think he and FemShep are suitable for each other. At least not the way I play my FemShep.

I think you're confusing the one Sebo showed with Merrill's romance scene from DAII.

TIM?  No.  Saren?  Maybe.

Yep, if there's going to be any ploughing by high-class, semi-evil cyborgs, it's gotta be Mr. Arterius.

I think TIM just saves time. Shepard does the same, since Shepard doesn't look any further than the ship.

The Illusive Man is trying to find everlasting youth with Reaper nanites, possibly to hook up with CougarShep?

Also I've been listening to my Renegade Shepard's "theme song" and feel it applies to TIM, more so after Evolution when Ben and Eva died.

Oh, that's a good song.

She likes to create traits for characters she doesn't like to make her hate more resolute and hide any redeeming factors from said character.

First pre-Husk, then Husk. Pre-Husk has more charm, but post-Husk - my, look at how he moves!

Never you mind that. This imaginary thing tells you more about Xilizhra than it does about TIM. Only to be expected from  someone who's used to relying on Dominate....

Pre-husk.  Chafing is tolerable, but I'm not so sure about the searing hot metal and lightning bolts.

It'd be like making love to a cattle prod wrapped in barbed wire.

TIM's a charming sort of fellow--quite the silver fox, really--but hotness does not equal bangability.

Can't say anything about Saren. But I find TIM attractive both before and...after the Monolith. And besides, look at Shepard. Sure it's possible to conceal the scars, but Shepard's still stuffed with implants, with nothing but the skin covering it all.

You know something?
I think those files are fabricated.

This has been bothering me for a while, now. Here is a man who has been talked up to be brilliant, innovative, possessing an information network nearly as extensive as the Shadow Broker's, and who is insanely paranoid about his personal security. This is a man who moves his entire base of operations every time a trusted operative sets foot in it. Why in the name of pants would such a man willingly jeapordize that security by having flings with matriarchs, porn stars and skyball champions?

More tellingly, how could he possibly overlook a security leak as massive as someone knowing exactly how many cigarettes he smokes (and drinks he consumes) per day?

Not that I'm implying he doesn't have some semblance of a personal life- but It would make more sense for him to have a visible body-double who engages in said activities, in order to shunt attention away from the real man in charge. Or, possibly, have something that intercepts any actual information leaks and replaces them with false information- he is the sort of person who would get a kick out of talking himself up as some kind of intergalactic sex god. It's like some warped version of a "your mom" joke.

I could be giving the writers too much credit, of course, but the disconnect between everything we've been told about the Illusive Man (in the books as well as the game) and a couple of humorous dossiers is... jarring, to say the least.

Make that the only PM.

Hey now, I only revealed a couple of early ones from a fairly long series of 'em.

Declassify the PMs. We demand it.

You don't get to make demands of Xil and me, Raven.

Of course. Fair enough. I'll drop it for now. I'll leave you two to it. I've got a big ass grin on my face right now thanks to the two of you.

What I'm really curious about how the full-time staff on the station were recruited and how they've earned such a position in Cerberus, the pay must be good and staying with the man is probably a great honour. Porn stars and such coming onboard iffs me (too easy to get assassinated this way, imo) but it shows that he moves his station when Kai Leng comes onboard but has people staying there as his employees.

Sweet blue ****** of the goddess, you're right.  I noticed that disconnect but it never bothered me until now.

Alternatively, that's what Jack Harper the entrepeneur does, and only the Shadow Broker has figured out he's actually TIM, and all the people that purchase that secret tend to wind up dead, so it's still a mystery.

Possibly, though she needed to do something to earn his trust enough that she'd be staying on his station working for him. Technically, he trusts her more than he possibly trusts Miranda and Kai Leng. It's hard to imagine.

While this is a very reasonable theory, its converse works just as good.

My theory is that when TIM wants to go out and have fun, he assumes any of his many false identities. In other words, he goes out under extremely heavy and high tech makeup, and leaves a body double in his office.

In the words of Henry Kissinger, "Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac." If you look at the personal lives of some powerful and charismatic people in history, such as Julius Caesar, John F Kennedy or Bill Clinton, you'd be surprised how much risks they put themselves in just to sate some of their more basic desires. It appears irrational, but it's how these people work.

The true ascetic must disavow power and lust at the same time. You cannot hold onto one without tasting the other.
