What makes Kelly the best romance is that it doesn't try to be anything more than a simple hook-up. The others try to act like they involve creating a serious relationship but fall flat on their faces in doing so.

The only romance for Sheploo that I'm interested in is Tali's, which is second to a theoretical TIM one in terms of story potential. Unfortunately the issue of a Human-Quarian pairing and the political ramifications of a Quarian admiral's daughter and folk hero with a human starship captain(especially a pro-Cerberus one) aren't touched upon. Instead what we have is Shepard hooking up with a groupie for the night who's concerned she might catch an STD he might have gotten from another one of his hoes.

It's a lot easier to know how many cigarettes TIM smokes per day, and you don't have to breach security to do that.

All you need to do is know which star system TIM's base is in, and send a probe to analyze the amount of cigarette butts in the trash cubes floating in the vacuum. Same with alchohol and dish-water recycling.

As for the brand of TIM's suits, SB merely happen to know the bank account # that TIM uses to buy his clothes with, and found it on the list of recent customers at the vendor.

Same with the trysts. All SB needs is indirect contact with a close friend of a mistress of TIM's. In other words: Gossiping women.

Why? Why would anyone want to know how many cigarettes he smokes? What purpose would it serve? It's bugging me, why on Earth would the agents thought it would be useful information?

I can just imagine TIM laughing as he supplies SB' agent with that intel.

Agent: Sir, they REALLY want to know something. I think if I don't tell anything, they'd shoot me.
TIM: Well...all right. I guess you could tell them how many cigarettes I smoke. Would that be satisfactory?
Agent: ...better than nothing at all, I suppose.

Hey, come on now. That's vital intel.

That? Easy. They want to know how many chances they'd have to kill TIM with an exploding cigarette. You know, it's been tried before.

Marketing purposes? They'll sell the info to the cigarette companies so they can sell spam mail to TIM.

That's probably the best and only reason to do so.

The Paragon path in Garrus LM makes no freaking sense. Paragon Shepard agrees to his request which is to flat out KILL Sidonis, then proceeds to shoot up a warehouse full of a mercs, allows Harkin to be mercilessly beaten and then has the nerve to preach "thou shall not kill" at the last minute?

Shepard's just looking for Fade, and being a Spectre, has every legal right to be there. How is it her fault that waves of Blue Suns try to kill her?

Also, I think the Shadow Broker has more info on TIM than that. Very likely he knows TIM's real name and background, but they didn't want to spoil it for Evolution, and I wouldn't be surprised if he could find TIM's base, but likely it'd take time each time it moved. Perhaps Liara knowing that is what'll cause TIM to try to kill her.

Why bother adding non-Charm options for Zaeed if you do the Paragon path?

Because you don't have enough charm for the decision, any piece of dialogue in this case doesn't give different results. You'd have a point if there was multiple scenarios present with the non-Charm dialogue.

And it isn't like telling the uncomfortable truth because its in-character isn't heavily foreshadowed to have bad consequences.

All you're told is that revealing it would make Tali's father be removed from the records and turned into a pariah for the Quarians and that Tali wouldn't like you.

Just like how Zaeed says he won't like you if you go save the workers and the dialogue option says "Forget loyalty.", though a charm option is still present.

When I first played that mission I thought I really would not get his loyalty if I didn't go after Vido. I also handed over the evidence in Tali's mission without knowing that it's the "Shepard shoots herself in the foot for no good reason" option.

If you're talking about a non-loyal Tali ending up biting the dust in the SM, she managed to survive the hold the line sequence being the only non-loyal squadmate for myself.  It'll be interesting to see what happens in ME3 with my Shep since I told the truth to the quarian people.

Your Spectre status was given back on the condition that you operate in the  Terminus Systems. You done bad.

If the Council doesn't like it, they can call me. Since they didn't, I think they could overlook it.

Exactly. You can defy Zaeed, foil his revenge, go against his wishes, and still gain his loyalty. But if you don't do what Tali tells you, you can't get her loyalty. This inequality strikes me as odd. Is Tali supposed to have more self-respect than Zaeed or something?

Thing about Tali is, both the Charm and Intimidate options are there. After that point, it's pretty clear that the non-persuade will either involve doing what the Admirals would want (at Tali's expense) or doing what Tali wants (at the Admirals' expense).

If you think its foolish to ruin Zaeed's mission I don't see why you'd do the same to Tali (other than personal preferrences). Not sure why Rael'Zorra being ratted out and the victims of his crime are so much more important than saving refinery workers from burning to death. Not like it does any good either, it just causes a bigger rift between the quarians than before.

laecraft wrote...

This isn't even Paragon - Renegade issue, it's about treating the character's integrity with respect. If you don't resolve Zaeed's LM, if you let Vido get away, there's no way under the stars his mind would be at ease. There's no way he could be "loyal." He's been set on his revenge for twenty years, now he's going to just forgive you that? Extracting loyalty at gunpoint? That snapping sound is my suspension of disbelief.

Zaeed's state-of-mind has been with him a long time, and he's still been a very successful mercenary. That, to me, is less reason to kill Vido (even though I did it anyway). Why ruin a "good" thing? Maybe he's less effective without that motivator.

Zaeed doesn't forgive Shepard, he acknowledges that it was his fault and falls in line, which I wish I could've made him do in the renegade path.

I was inclined to let Sidonis live until I actually talked to him.

Daniel Shepard:  Dude! You were part of a vigilante team taking down professional mercenaries on Omega and you rolled on your team because of threats!?! Garrus, pull the trigger.

Nah, there's only one organization who'd try to kill Shepard even after helping them fight the Reapers.

Let me take a guess. Cerberus? Are we on the same page? Awesome.

The Council isn't going to try and kill you, Xilizhra, they'll just lock you up for the rest of your natural life.

Maybe you won't have a cell mate. A (former) Spectre would be sent a maximum security prison and that might mean solitary confinement 23 hours a day.

For... walking into a warehouse and having a known mercenary gang of total bastards try to kill me? And I helped catch Fade. In the only other time I had to operate on the Citadel, I stopped an assassination and didn't even kill anyone. I really doubt the Council cared, especially when C-SEC could tell them all the details of what I did; I think they're more worried about me doing Cerberus-y intelligence work on other Citadel planets or something.

The Council's directives to their Spectres tend to be more in the way of "guidelines" anyway.

You cut off the head of a minor snake, leaving it for Cerberus to replace with one of their chosing. I'm certain TIM is grateful.

I reckon Cerberus thinks what the Collectors were doing to humanity was a good thing -building a Reaper with their genetic material- because well, they wanted the best for humanity while Shepard tries to stop the Reapers they will try to stop him/her so they can become apart of them. Any thoughts?
