I don't approve of capital punishment regardless. And now that Tali is better informed about the geth, I doubt she'd want to kill all of them.

Ironically, as well-informed as she is, the only thing that's stopping her from openly championing an all-out war of elimination against the Geth, is that the Quarians have practically zero probability of winning.

My Pro-Cerberus Talimancer hopes to combine Cerberus' Project Overlord with Rael'Zorah's work to smash the Geth and retake the homeworld.  Admiral Xen and Dr. Gavin Archer will become partners(in more ways than one!) and TIM will be cracking open a bottle of Jim Beam with Han'Gerrel after the homeworld is taken.

It's a brilliant plan I must say.

This is why this thread wins despite being populated by a bunch of strange Renegades.

If
that is the case, I'll forever shut up about how video games have the
potential to become a serious branch of art like literature or film.

Or maybe it's time to start looking elsewhere. Any other games that you guys may recommend?

Now, I didn't mean to cast a pall over the evening. This thread is already dark enough as it is.

*tries to think of something cheeful quickly*

heh, that's right, don't listen to me.

Kooky.

Hey now, that's not a very nice thing to say...

Xili once said that about her. Besides, I mean it w/ love. I have the utmost respect for laecraft even though I don't really show it. She's just a kooky person. Nothing wrong w/ that.

That would depend, Xilizhra, on just how powerful that favour is. Fighting the Reapers is the meaning of my Shepard's entire existence. It doesn't get any more powerful than that.

Not everything about rationalizations. Alliance is not the matter of simple trade, like it's a shop. I am human, and I feel emotions.

But if we get down to facts, Cerberus proved themselves to me, and nobody else did. I take into account the past actions. It wasn't just resurrection, they supported me throughout the game, and they exist to fight the Reapers, and they're successful at that.

Should the betrayal happen, it would be very dramatic for me. Other people, however, are going to miss out on the entire drama, when they say "oh well" and proceed to gun down Cerberus, or even do so with glee. Looks like project Lazarus really did strip some Shepards of humanity.

I trust Cerberus because of what their goals are and how those goals compare to my own. It's no more, no less than that.

I distrust them for pretty much that exact reason.

Really? Your Shepard will just lay down and die after the Reapers are beaten? That explains a lot, actually...

Not everything about rationalizations. Alliance is not the matter of simple trade, like it's a shop. I am human, and I feel emotions.

So do I. But sometimes, emotions are a danger, especially when manipulated. It's good to know when to turn them off.

But if we get down to facts, Cerberus proved themselves to me, and nobody else did. I take into account the past actions. It wasn't just resurrection, they supported me throughout the game, and they exist to fight the Reapers, and they're successful at that.

Yes. But they have goals beyond the Reapers. If they were to ally with me against the Reapers again in ME3, I'd accept their aid, but as it stands...

Should the betrayal happen, it would be very dramatic for me. Other people, however, are going to miss out on the entire drama, when they say "oh well" and proceed to gun down Cerberus, or even do so with glee. Looks like project Lazarus really did strip some Shepards of humanity.

I have plenty of people whom I would be extremely emotional over their betraying me. I take some pride in those people being unlikely to betray me in the first place.

My pro-Cerberus Talimancer seduced Tali's sweet little ass over to the cause and has her wearing the colors of the organization to boot. Now that's mackin'.

I don't frequent this thread often enough, but I prefer to think of myself as a strange Paragon. Both ME games keep telling me I'm Paragon.

And? You repeat what others say, without bothering to form opinion on your own, or without even caring to invent an original insult? Come on, you can do better than that.

Laecraft is a good Cerberus blood sister who's willing to take a bullet for TIM if need be.

Too quickly? How long would it take you to trust someone - four games? :D

Well, so long as someone is going to keep me at arm's length, use me as a tool, and never divulge any information about whom I'm working with and in fact take steps to keep me from learning anything about them... well, never, quite frankly. I never trusted the Council to stay fully reliable, I've learned to stop trusting the Alliance to be, and I never trusted Cerberus either. Organizations are fickle, and at any moment you could be just a piece to be sacrificed. It's people I trust... but TIM hasn't earned it.

I thought we were discussing Cerberus, not the Council. >_>

To be perfectly frank, regardless of what is going to happen, Cerberus is the reason that the Galaxy is not going to be overrun by Reapers in ME3.  This cannot be denied; TIM literally did the impossible and brought a savior back to life.  That alone is more than any other faction has done.  He has provided you with a crew, a state of the art ship and assembled a team for you (which you do need to put together yourself, I won't give him all the credit).  He funds your missions.  Is he a super clean paragon?  Of course not.  He's taken part in horrible, horrible things.  Does he deserve your trust?  Maybe, but even if you don't trust him, if you work with him then you're closer to stopping the Reapers.

Cerberus is a reason. And now they're trying to make up for that, apparently.

Saphra is so often in PMS mood, I'm not surprised. Xili is clearly a girl. She's as endearingly inconsistent as Leliana.

But laecraft... somehow I always imagined as a cool, masked, well-dressed, um, dude. Sitting on his comfy chair in a large, marbled room. Typing on his keyboard with an ice-cold katana resting on his lap and a cup of tea beside his hand.

Good thinking. I would say that you're a dedicated Renegade and you believe in Cerberus but much of that is predicated on your wistful feelings towards TIM.

That's sexist.

A man can be said to be in PMS mood as well. Plus PMS mood is scientifically established. Just read a paper a few weeks ago where experiments proved that women become much more competitive some times depending on where they are in the cycle.

Anyway, I do apologize. I meant it as a gender-neutral figure of speech only.

It's related to my screenname, a Şeboist is a fan of Şebnem Ferah's and her nick is "Şebo".

I'm listening to her music right now btw.

The word "strange" comes to mind.
