Honestly, ME3 is just as much a disservice to the Batarains as it is to Cerberus. We could have some real neat socio-political drama involving Shepard fighting off the Hegemony while at the same time trying to figure out a way to get them to turn against the Reapers but nope, we get some doo doo ass shit Paragon fan ****** story about Cerberus instead.

I was looking forward to a Batarian Civil War, between the bad/indoctrinated Hegemony Batarians and, well, any other sort.

Whether 'less bad' Hegemony officers who realized siding with the Reapers is madness, or some sort of Batarian slave rebellion, instigating/supporting a Hegemony civil war would have been an excellent basis for introducing a Batarian squadmate.

Not even some 'good/sympathetic' Batarian, but a cynical 'Renegade' companion in lieu of the Prothean.

Batarian companion wouldn't work, everybody's stereotyped the Batarians as this one-mindset villain and they have to cater to that mentality otherwise we'd have actual interesting characters.

Pretty much, anywhere else our opinions are attacked constantly. Least here, we rot in peace.

Like an Aeon Flux/Trevor Goodchild influenced character dynamic between femshep/TIM that would have been integral to the story as opposed to these crappy shallow fan wanks where she "romances"(Twu Lub!) a bird lizard with a literal boner, a tentacle headed creepy stalker or a frog man with lung problems that have fuck all to do with anything? :P

It's the best idea that's ever been posted on here if I do say so myself.

Curious, have any of you tried Bastion? I've been absolutely adoring it these past few months and have to say, the ending choices made me tear up as it's all really well done.

I've seen some trailers for Bastion, but something about it rubbed me the wrong way. I hear good things, though. Good games I have been playing lately are Mirror's Edge and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Been playing through Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and this scene where Captain Jacob Keyes is under the grasp of the Flood is a better "indoctrination" scene than anything we've seen in the ME franchise.

Why can't TIM go out in such an awesome manner instead of the mustache twirling rubbish we're getting?

I still admire the timing they had: The Arrival comes out and you get foreshadowing of the Alliance-Batarian war, possible Batarian alliance with Reapers and/or their indoctrination (Reapers are coming from the galactic south after all, Batarians would likely be the first species they could use), Hackett basically hinting that he understands, that you're still with Cerberus,... all of this making you even more hopeful than you already were (whatever your basic state of hope was) - only to have those hopes crushed a few days afterwards, when the first mention of us being against Cerberus no matter what came out.

I felt trolled so hard...

Yeah, there was that Batarian foreshadowing and that subtle hint you could still be with Cerberus since that line Hackett utters about the Normandy no longer being a Cerberus ship only occurs if the CB is destroyed.

Cerberus becoming major Reaper allied enemies and Liara being shoehorned into becoming a squadmate despite the LOTSB supporting character build up were epic trolls for sure.

You support a Vorcha squadmate now?

Vorcha should be immune to indoctrination.

Why? Make **** up. But they should be.

They should become a Cerberus proxy force too.

I've really enjoyed the few hours or so I've played. However, due to the Winter Sale I'm unsure when I'm actually going to get around to finishing it.

Don't really need to, make the Vorcha's adaptative capabilities work on indoctrination.

Would have been nice to have the Vorcha actually be part of the story instead of filler bad guys like the Batarians but alas....

Been thinking about Arrival and I have a feeling they're going to gloss over the fact that by all accounts Shepard was manipulated by Steven "proto-TIM" Hackett into finishing the Project. There's no way he didn't know what his BFF Kenson was up to....

Been watching some X-Files throwbacks and it's unfortunate that TIM doesn't turn out to be a "bad guy for the greater good" like the Cancer Man. In fact I suspect that this is who TIM's character was originally based on which makes his portrayal in ME3 even more confusing.
