Dave, you were right on the money with your prediction that TIM would turn into a mutated Wesker.

Out of curiosity, where exactly are Shepard's squadmates while all this is going on?

Spoilers ahead.

The ones you've brought with you are on the Citadel, the ones you've left behind are "fighting" the war.

Wait, what are they doing on the Citadel? Did Shepard take some mini-mass relay (like the Conduit or something) from the Citadel to TIM's base? Now I'm even more confused.

Spoilers ahead.

By this point of time, you've dealt with TIM's base and he wasn't there. He appears on screen and laughs at you, saying you're too late.

The Citadel is where the Reapers are being controlled, TIM (being indoctrinated) wants to speed up the process which people are being made into the Human-Reaper (or something, it doesn't really make sense) so he takes control of the Citadel and activates it, sending it right infront of Earth and landing it there.

For a good laugh check out the latest "bioware pulse" where Walters talks about how "great" the story is and about how much "depth" it has.

To be fair, it's marketing and most people are going to absolutely love the script which has been written for them.

I'm sure they'd love seeing TIM reduced to a whimpering bitch that gets on his knees and praises how great their space Jesus character is.

Christ almighty this puts Zaeed's whimpering in his LM to shame.

If TIM has to be evil I want him to be badass too. Will he at least have a decent boss fight with Shep? Or is Kai Leng the attack dog the whole game?

There doesn't seem to be a boss fight with him per say just some cackling evil moment where he taunts Shepard and co when they're at his mercy. The way Shepard "fights back" is the same manner in which Saren was talk-jutsued.....

And yeah Kai Leng is the main attack dog.

I would actually rather have what we have in the script as a final confrontation than have an actual boss fight with TIM.

He then realizes he is and shoots himself, otherwise Shepard shoots
him in a cutscene. The dying TIM praises Paragon Shepards and insults
Renegade Shepards before his last breath
. The guy who's controlling the
Reapers confirms shortly after that TIM was "theirs".

Could you please PM me the lines where TIM does that Dave?

I'd rather have had my femshep in ME2 fly the normandy into TIM's office killing them both than to see them endure this kind of ass raping.

So TIM and his troops are basically Saren and the Geth?

Yup.

Comparing them to Queen Myrrah and the Locust from Gears of War would also be an apt comparison, as would the Shredder and the Foot Clan, Cobra Commander and his minions, or even Dr. X and his of Action Man fame.

Ladies and gents here I present a far superior villain to ME3 TIM or anything else in this franchise, here's Scolar Visari of Killzone.

His speeches from the intros of Killzone 1-3 (Way better than any of Shepard's lame speeches)

His propaganda broadcasts from Killzone 2 multiplayer (The Helghast and ISA broadcasts are more grey than BW's black and white disney morality)

His dialogue in the Killzone 2 ending (He's defiant, unrepentant in his beliefs and verbally spits in the face of the PC unlike the "villains" in ME who grovel at the feet of the player so they can have their little space Jesus wish/power fullilment fantasy)

Very pitiful that a franchise with a simpler story and that features American and Nazi caricatures as factions is more grey and has a better written villain.

BW writing = overhyped.

Hey, I introduced you to Visari as well. >_>

Oh well. *continues fondling his glass of rum whilst listening to Visari*

Edit: C'mon, at least post the full KZ intros; it's awkward reciting Visari's speeches, only to have him suddenly cut to a part I wasn't counting on until at least half a minute later.

Well, you can't say that this doesn't have precedent within the series: anyone everywhere who tries to control Reaper minds or anything about them other than a few parts is eventually indoctrinated.

You see Xil, this isn't about what could happen. This whole outrage is about the simple fact that all characters, all sentences and words spoken in-game were created by living, breathing people. Those people could have chosen to create an ambivalent, grey story, which would question people's morality by showing them many alternate points of view on issues like, for example, human dominance and other things Cerberus works on.
They could've made a story not unlike the one in Witcher 2, where all of player's big choices were in the end rewarded by satisfying consequences - for both sides.

Instead, devs have chosen to spit in faces of people having certain opinion and decided to uphold the "good" people's choices. They are essentially telling us, what is supposed to be good and wrong, instead of letting us to decide that ourselves. What they've decided to do with TIM and Cerberus is a perfect example of that, with pretty much every unlikable/Renegade character so far ending up the same way as well.

Indeed John, ME3 could have had some interesting drama like how far the player is willing to go to save the galaxy but instead we get a parody of the worst inane politically correct and cliche hollywood tripe imaginable.

he has a valid point, T.I.M. had so much potential as a character and so many other reanagade-ish characters as well.

I see your Scolar Visari and raise my Arcturus Mengsk:

"... Uprecedented, and unimaginable though they may be, these are the signs of our times.

The time has come my fellow Terrans, to rally to a new banner. In unity lies strength. Already many of the dissident factions have joined us.

Out of the many we shall forge an indivisible whole, capitulating ONLY to a single throne. And from that throne... I shall watch over you.

From this day forward, let no human make war upon any other human. Let no Terran agency conspire against this new beginning. And let no man consort with alien powers. And to all the enemies of humanity, seek not to bar our way. For we shall win through, NO MATTER THE COST!"

Personally I have always been an allied/GDI fan, but those two were still awesome.
Joe Kucan should voice the next Bioware villain... :innocent:
