T_T it gave me chills!

This is the price you pay when you play with too many reaper artifacts. Who seriously didn't see this coming?

Indoctrination.

Meh.  I hate this writing since it effectively makes him Saren 2.0, but I guess it's better than the alternative.

TIM: Mind your own business.  I'm doing things my way.
Shepard: Well, since I destroyed the Ascension, kept the Collector Base, and told Harbinger I'd sacrifice half the galaxy to defeat the Reapers, I'm pretty open to ideas since the galaxy's at stake.
TIM: Fu*k you.  I don't need you anymore. *Turns off hologram*
Shepard:  Ooookay......

The people who really wanted him to be his own character and not become Saren 2.0.  Not to mention that TIM's always kept to himself at his own base away from it all.....so he's an idiot for getting indoctrinated after all he knows(unless its his eyes which I still don't like).

^ Out of curiosity, what were you expecting of him/his role in ME3 to stay in-character? Him continuing to help with no apparent strings attached?

Well to be honest I would have liked to see some intrique, like Cerberus actually working from afar with Shepard and others until they complete the weapon then TIM backstabbing him and trying to use the weapon for his own purposes.

I dont really see why BW didnt use this route.

Well It's done now. We cant change it.

Saw the GTTV footage and apparently the protheans were on the verge of beating the reapers and Walters has been the main writer since the start. Oh Mac and Casey....

I'm half-expecting TIM to turn into a Harvester at this point. It's not like they're pretending he isn't Orsino 2.0.

Man some of you really give the Illusive man too little credit, o ye of little faith. You have to know he has bigger plans than to be a puppet.

And this is coming from someone that hates the guy.

I was expecting him to continue fighting for his cause.

It doesn't make much sense for an "indoctrinated lol" TIM to discard a pro-Cerberus Shepard either as the Reapers would take advantage of such a relationship to get him/her to inadvertently help their cause.

TIM's descent into assclown villainry has more holes in it than swiss cheese but that's what happens when you base the story around cutting corners and fan pandering.

I'm really hoping this is referring to a new twist in ME3, because otherwise everything Vigil said in ME1 has been massively contradicted.

It makes one wonder why it didn't mention it or have info on it.

And who exactly is being pandered to here? Paragons? Becuase I don't think what they do to TIM has anything to do with that.

Maybe because Vigil was part of an isolated research facility whose only function was to keep the scientists in stasis and pass over the information about the conduit?

So you think that him being part of an isolated research facility invalidates everything he said about the reaper-prothean war?

I rather think it works. Saren was, in a way, the Reaper's Paragon; he attempted to deal with the Reapers to save all life in the galaxy. TIM was the Renegade, trying to seize control of them to put humanity on top. But neither Paragon nor Renegade motives will survive the Reapers intact. It's an interesting full circle, I feel.

The way the scientists knew about the details of the war were through tranmissions and theories. The facility went completely dark and no one came in or out until the Reapers left.

It's possible that the Protheans found a way to defeat the Reapers, but didn't tell others via radio out of fear of the Reapers finding out about it. All signs point to this being a super-weapon that a group of Prothean scientists developed in secret, far away from Ilos.

With ME2, there was a HUGE backlash and constant complaining about how the series was ruined because Shepard was forced to work with Cerberus instead of... doing nothing, like the Council. Regardless, ME2 received a lot of complaints for not being black and white fairy tale storybook enough, and not having enough VS/Liara, so now ME3 revolves around sticking it to TIM and 'sticking it' to the VS/Liara.

People didn't like being railroaded into answering to Cerberus. It was nothing against TIM or his organization.

ME 2 gave you ample opportunity to rage against Cerberus & subvert their operations.

i didn't appreciate being railroaded into becoming a spectre /sarcasm.
I lie. I don't care. It's part of the plot and it isn't changing. Sometimes life, and games, railroad you.

No offense intended - this is to the generic "people" you quote, not you.

I'm a fan of shades of grey, too, but I see the Illusive Man as an entirely different entity. He's a lesson of mankind's folly and arrogance and not an icon of moral ambiguity. He's constantly attempting to reach things out of his grasp via horrendous methods and anyone who follows him ends up paying the price.

If anyone is pissed at TIM being reduced to nothing more than a slightly more serious version of Dr. Evil from Austin Powers, please blame your local anti-Cerberus alliance (a.k.a. most of the talifans).

Thank you, have a nice day!

Tali at one point used to be my fave squadmate but her fanbase and BW's treatment of her as top fanwank material has made want to give her a slow painful death(Garrus and Liara too).

Why can't we have the awesome TIM of ME2 back instead of this joke we're gonna get in ME3?

And it's all due to the almighty fanwanking powers that reside with the Team Dextro nuts.
