I randomly pop into a thread about TIM, and see pictures of hot chicks.

What?

It was being discussed how Eternal likes white women, and so some were posted.

TIM likes white women too so it's on topic.

TIM also likes Asari Matriarchs.

Clearly Cerberus' plan in ME 3 should be winning the support of the Asari by TIM-duction of their leaders. :P

True, TIM's game rivals if not surpasses indoctrination when it comes to the opposite sex.

Not as good as the Thorian though; when was the last time TIM sent out green asari commandos against his foes?

Well, the Man himself is a womanizer, after all. I'm sure he'd approve. ;D

So apparently the ME franchise is the best written sci-fi in our history, it represents the "goodness found in others" and the "evils of humanity" in the form of Cerberus, who represents "our dark history with ****s, Hitler and groups thinking they're better than others" and how by remaining optimistic, one may conquer the evils.

My entire keyboard was bloodied by the time I finished reading, I hit my head a dozen or so times.

ME's glorified "Dragon invades the realm" story wrapped in sci-fi clothing is pretty deep shit yo. Way better than that mindless shooter fluff in Gears of War,Resistance,Killzone and the like.

Haven't you noticed the great depth of the missi...err "stories? Like...

"Vorcha are up to no good...... go smoke 'em!"
"Generic mercs up to no good...... go smoke 'em!"
"Cerberus up to no good..... go smoke 'em!"

Doom and Wolfenstein don't have high brow stories like this either.

I'd say Gears, while overly simplified in it's plot, did do extremely well with it's characterization. Some characters you loved to hate, others were more on the gray side and you understood why they did what they did and even then you've got character progression which leads to really well done scenes (GOW3 spoilers) like this.

I didn't play the trilogy myself, only having watched streams of it, though I did enjoy it's cast immensely and found the trilogy ended quite well.

I like how the Chairman Prescott character while having the same basic "douchebag politician" archetype as Udina is treated with far more respect. All the shady things he did ultimately ended up saving humanity.

Christ even Killzone's multiplayer is more grey than ME.

In the end it's rather ironic as well, seeing how the majority of the BW fanbase looks down on Gears as just a mere shooter, not realising that Mass Effect has become the exact same thing by now... or rather, what it became two years ago already. The only the series still has up on Gears is a fancy dialogue simulator that ultimately doesn't really add anything to the experience, and a level select system in the form of the galaxy map.

Also, this seems like as good a time as any to post Prescott's http://www.youtube.c...3b64Eo&t=2m15s' class='bbc_url' title='Lien externe' rel='nofollow external'>brilliant speech from Gears 2.

Edit: I really need to stop juggling between BSN and so many other things; I'm getting ninja'd by everyone in here now...

I enjoy Cerberus more for multiplayer.

Dying to Cerberus feels right, somehow.

You should play ME3 on Insanity only to do Cerberus justice and keep in mind that every time you die that is Cerberus winning and accomplishing their goals. The only reason they lose is because Shepard is the protagonist.

I'm thinking playing Cerberus-missions on Insanity, and the rest on Veteran. Just to make them look better by comparison.

That said, I'd rather play as Cerberus in multiplayer.

That would be friggen sweet in its own right.

Kind of like Left 4 Dead.

Good grief how come I am not one bit suprised you guys would lose to cerberus on purpose?

lol it's funny because one of these days I was going to make a sarcastic crack about how you guys would just let yourselves be killed on purpose when you play ME 3 just so cerberus can beat you but apparently I can't make that remark anymore because you guys already confirmed it.  I was just waiting for the right time in the right thread.  Oh well

I wish we got to choose our squadmates in Gears; I would have brought Baird everywhere. I would have saved Ben Carmine, too.

Well that's just silly.

The Batarians are clearly the dark representation to humanity; they're basicaly all of our ills taken to the extreme.  Slavery, totalitarianism, proxy wars, 'racism' (specism?), aggression and difficulty sharing.  But you know what, even in all of that, there are still a few decent ones, even if their moral values are rather messed up.  While my Colonists Shepards always kill him anyway, even Balak's lackey (and probably the Batarians he commanded) is clearly horrified by the thought of, basically super nuking a planet (slave runs are fine though ~_~).

Besides, Cerberus would be more of a HYDRA group than just a "Hitler" group.

I'm not sure where you read that, but they need to play the game. ^_^

Better than Shepard's dopey "speeches" by a landslide.

Another thing that Gears reminds me of is how sanitized the whole supposed "dark and gritty" ME story is, like... where's the racial slurs or other kinds of nicknames? Gears has the humans calling the locust "grubs" and Locust call them "ground walkers" so where's all the colorful names that ME's humans and the Batarians or the Turians and Krogan have for each other? ME keeps claiming there's this long running feuds between these factions and they hate each other(as Grunt admits to) but it sure doesn't look like they have more animosity towards each other than elementary school kids.

I also "like" how strippers in strip clubs don't you know.. strip but we have Shepard's female squadmates running around in high heels, displaying cleavage, wearing nipple straps, etc in combat and hazardous enviroments. This is supposed to be a "mature" story? Fuck out of here with that bullshit. Now Gears on the other hand not only has women in proper combat gear but manages to outsell ME with ease without this bizarro fanservice.

I think we should've stuck with posting pics of white girls.

Oh yes, don't you love how the solution to galatic peril and destruction will be to sit down and talk about it like it'll magically solve everything?

I also think it would be very disappointing if the cerberus issue was just solved with a trivial "they are racists, they are morons, they are evil", it seems obvious to me that in the plot original intention the illusive man was supposed to know something more than the rest of the galaxy about the reapers.
I still wonder why they decided to turn cerberus into a human-supremacist organization in me2, I guess that this is why eventually they had to became just pure evil army.
Anyway I will give my trust to the writers and hope they are going to surprise me.

*sorry for my english, i refuse to use the google translator since it'd be worse
