I come back to the damndest things, I swear. Thread seems like it might be swaying dangerously close to shut-down/warning territory.

Bit disappointed at the lack of T.I.M. in both the 90 second trailer tonight and the demo. Just saying.

(Tempted to change the thread title to "Brotherhood" something-or-other.)

And she has written good material for the DA games.

Such as?

The Dwarf Origins, for one.

They've been wanting to change the title for a while now.

You mean like Mage vs. Templars? A divide between two sides, one wanting freedom and the other control?

Nope. The Mage vs. Templars, where one can change into demons after years and years of control, and where the other wants to kill them all.

It's ignorant to say one side is completely right.

I hope blacklash has a stable for this horse he rode in on, for when he's done riding it.

Well I'm a paragon and I'm enjoying the thread; it doesn't seem all that bad.

*sigh* I never said one side was completely right, so less of the ignorant. Just pointing out the comparsion that the same can be said about both stories (although Skyrims seemed alittle more lop sided with the elves popping in).

Well in the past they wanted a sort of general "Renegade/Cerberus" thread.

Where I come from such insults and the ones who voice and enable them are considered detrimental. It probably has less with me being on a high horse than other people who sink as low as they do to get a laugh.

@Eternal: Yes, not bad. Interesting read, in fact. However, like I said, I can see it getting shut-down/a warning at the same time. I'd hate to see it. I <3 you all. :P

@Saphra: Hmm... I'll see what I can come up with. Unless someone has a specific suggestion.

Something along the lines of The Illusive Man/Cerberus blood brotherhood discussion/support thread would be nice blood sister.

And don't worry about a shutdown. This thread has been widely recognized as the wild west of BSN for a loooong time.

Good woman and yes it does.

Btw, you narrowly beat me in creating a TIM thread for the ME3 way back when.

The Good: Shepard
The Bad: Illusive Man
The Ugly: Udina

Also good renaming of the thread.

How does liking Skyrim make you a better writer?

Bethesda's writers are great at creating concept, the entire deal with the Empire / Stormcloaks and the Thalmor is probably one of the better concepts which they've dne and is stronger than most of Bioware has ever churned out because it's mostly politics and there's little to no outside influence and the like.

The problem with them is they're not really great with expanding the concept, they create a wide world which you can get lost in and with that, elements of the plot are lost. You constantly hear how the Empire failed, how Stormcloaks are fighting for freedom and how Thalmor are oppressive dicks but that's mostly lost while you're running around slaying dragons.

Bioware has the opposite problem, it's poor with concepts but expands them greatly, a quality which is slowly disappearing as time is passing and it's causing many of us to worry. Dragon Age: Origins was a poor concept, we'd seen it a thousand times before but they had involved themselves into the world enough that it brought it out and made it stronger.

Now they're falling into the same pit which I'd classify as the "Bethesda pit", they take strong concepts which lots of potential ways to explore it but they're not really expanding it into anything great. Dragon Age 2, at the very core, could've been an amazing story had it been done right and Mass Effect 2 / 3 could've dealt with a lot of the conflicts which are often mentioned in the backround.

It's just, exactly like Bethesda, nothing is done about it. The Mass Effect series could've had a lot more going for it had they explored more the concepts which they constantly brought up, such as the Council's corruption and their oppression of the "secondary" species or the darker side of the Alliance. Though it's quickly abandoned, the game focusing rather on the big bad or the companions.

One fear which many feel is that Bioware isn't trying to create stories anymore, they're just trying to create backdrops which they can put their companions in and who they'll romance.

You're just here for the off chance we start posting pretty ladies again.

Which seems unlikely, given the current subject.

I'd say it's good enough, albeit a little on the long side.

Agree.
But Bethesda bored me with its side missions (Skyrim). I'm really tired of them.

Bioware recent games are based on 'rule of cool' and 'awesomeness' ... but have little brains.

@Eternal & Kaiser: I was always one for long titles. I'll see if I can make it shorter.

@Seboist: I can't believe I missed that last bit. Wild West of the BSN.

I had to keep up with the tradition of sorts, someone sent a PM asking for a ME3 T.I.M. thread. It's too bad the group is so quiet, always trying to think up something for it.

@Jedi: That's a good one, too. Might have to use both.
