That's why I said "in part."

And yet, your caveat doesn't pardon your conclusion.

Reapers.

The Reapers are the only problem in the universe?

That's shortsighted even for you.

No, I meant Cerberus joining the Reapers.

Cerberus isn't just joining the Reapers like that; TIM is too much of a magnificent bastard to submit himself to another's will.

You presume all of Cerberus has joined the Reapers from... a bit of promo material?

Really? Even though developers have already promised us that things aren't as they see, and that the real intent and circumstances of Cerberus will be a significant twist in ME3?

That's jumping to conclusions even for you, Xilizhra.

Then we shall see if anything significant changes, yes?

Let's wait for something significant to be established before we see if it changes.

Let's not exagerate on what we do know to what we don't.

You know you're talking about BSN here, don't you, Dean? Exaggerating and jumping to conclusions is 50% of what we do over here, the other half consisting of complaining about what we do know.

I wish I had Dean's optimism.

Assuming The Illusive Man had (don't question why, just play with it) to be slain and his role was open, who would you thrust into his position if you had the choice? Would you disband Cerberus? Would you place Miranda in the position? Would you become the next Illusive Man?

... would you make Jacob the Illusive Man? No, that's terrifying. I'd prefer having Grunt in that role.

I'd probably take his role, Kelly staying on the station with me. Maybe start smoking in tribute to the man.

Either put Miranda there in charge and keep a decent partnership with her in order to have a reliable ally hidden in the shadows.

Or my Shepard would put himself in charge. Then with Liara as the SB they will rule the criminal underworld as a couple (Darth Revan style baby). Won't take up smoking (until perhaps later down the road), but definetly have a couple of drinks (Whisky/Bourbon or rum).

I wouldn't imagine Shepard taking up smoking if it had any repercussions, though we're too far in the future to not do it in a classy fashioned.

"Kelly, bring me my cigar."
"Yes, Shep- The Illusive Man."
"Oh, don't forget the alcohol. I need that too, I'm expecting a call."

Place Miranda in that position? Surely you jest? Aside from the inconsistent characterization she ends up being "Paragonized"  at the end of ME2 and ends up being less of a Cerberus loyalist than Kelly. What a shame that was...

If anyone's going to become the "Illusive Woman" and take over Cerberus it's going to be my femshep. I can see it now, her wearing a feminine version of TIM's suit and smoking her Marlboro with some fancy cigarette holder. She would do her best to further her fallen man's vision. <3

Oh, I fully agree. However, there isn't much in the way of companions who'd be capable of leading an organization. Either they're just incapable of doing so because of their nature (Jack, Ashley, Kaidan, ect) or because they're not likely to care about humanity's advancement (aliens).

Miranda is the only companion which has run a group, has some leadership qualities and has shown some desire of human advancement. Her character derailment at the end might cause problems, it just... doesn't stop her from being the most qualified.

I doubt Kelly could run Cerberus, though that'd be quite interesting. Her or Gardner.

I might keep Cerberus' resources, but I'd likely clean its membership's house and reuse what I can for a purpose other than human dominance. The corporate sponsors likely wouldn't like that, so I'd need to find new ones.

Joker is the obvious answer.

Might as well give the cripple a decent job that doesn't involve getting up, complete with lots of beautiful women that cater to his every whim.

My view of Miranda really soured with that stunt she pulled with the Collector base when she started blubbering some sentimentality nonsense about it being a "betrayal" to keep it and resigning from the organization. I'd rather have Zaeed take over and turn it into a humancentric mercenary gang in all honesty.

He already did lead a humancentric mercenary gang. In fact, he founded one. It didn't end well. Zaeed's a good fighter, but not so much a good leader.

Why doesn't your Femshep just have him as a bodyguard/sex slave?

Actually, I think I'd just completely shut down Cerberus if only to end this "illusive" crap being repeated.

Hmm, I think I might've finally found a valid justification for myself to keep the Collector Base...
