**Spoilers***
(I don't know whether this article has been talked about yet. Its been out since June, but some of the information was new to me and I've spent a fair bit on the forums so I figured I may as well share it.)
The main things to take from the article:
1. 'Once they reach the Normandy, however, Anderson proclaims that he is staying behind to help others escape (but not before throwing Shepard her dog tags and saying she should consider herself reinstated in the Alliance Military).'
It would appear that Shepard is definitely back in the Alliance. This should have been clear seeing as he was being given the Normandy back, but at least there is more confirmation now. Perhaps the trial goes in Shepard's favour.
2. 'In addition to weapons, the abilities your character possesses are much more customizable in ME3 than in ME2. You will start with a "powered-up" Shepard, especially when importing your character from Mass Effect 2, though the exact details of that have not yet been revealed. Long-time fans will recognize most of the abilities, but they will be able to use them and upgrade them in ways they never have before. Passive abilities, like Combat Mastery has several different subcategories under it, like Damage, Recharge Speed, Influence & Duration, Headshots, Weapon Mastery, Influence & Damage, Influence & Dilation. In other words, you won't just add a point to "Operative." Instead, you'll get to choose exactly where that point gets spent, and what boost it gives your Shepard.'
This seems way beyond the level of customization seen in either ME1 or ME2, so fans of RPGs should be very pleased to hear this. I'm delighted to see this.
3. 'The sheer amount of customization we saw, from weapon elements that will change rate of fire to damage to more stealthy styles was astounding.'
While we already know about weapon customization, I was unaware that stealthy options were going to be available. Silenced guns for infltrators perhaps? My main Shep is an inflitrator, so consider be very excited by this, even if it is rather vague. It also sounds like there will be a lot of options, so yet again it seems Bioware is going way beyond anything seen in either ME game with regards to customization. RPG fans rejoice.
4. '[Cerberus] is indoctrinated. They are capable of anything.'
Most of us already heard that line in the E3 demo and since then Casey has said it was a simplified version of the situation for TV. I felt it was worth noting because it will be picked up on anyway by people reading the article, but I'd rather the discussion of whether Cerberus is actually indoctrinated is left for a different thread - we've been told we won't get the full story until the game releases and most other threads about Cerberus devolve quickly, so I'd really rather this point isn't discussed too much, if possible.
