True.

So has mine. Sick of being used and mistreated just...sick of it.

If Shepard didn't want to get used by the powers that be, then he shouldn't have enlistend in the Corps in the first goddamed place.  Welcome to haveing to hold up your end of voluntary military service.

"The sheer amount of customization we saw, from weapon elements that will change rate of fire to damage to more stealthy styles was astounding; and this was just from one workbench in one small portion of the game."

Please don't let this be simple hyperbole. Please don't let this be simple hyperbole. Please don't let this be simple hyperbole.

@Lord Coake: He signed up to help people. That's all. And the alliance can kiss his ass at the end of ME2. Following the "you didn't *have* to sign up logic one could say the same for working with Cerberus. If he didn't want to work with Cerberus and be branded a traitor he could've walked away.
...Oh wait.

Regardless I"m looking forward to my "kick rocks alliance/council/cerberus." ending.

Re-joining with the Alliance was inevitable at some point. The only other option would have been for Shepard to be some sort of a pirate rallying the galaxy. Thing is this leaves Shepard entirely on their own and with no kind of authority what-so-ever.

I don't get people's angst towards the Alliance. Umm you do realize Shepard originally was part of the Alliance? That Shepard actually volunteered to join them in the first place? That half the reason Shepard knows how to fight is because of the Alliance? Sure the Alliance isn't morally perfect, but what organization is? The Alliance actually represents Humanity's and Earth's interests anyways as it isn't lead by any one person.

Shepard is Alliance despite whatever goofy ideas players formed while playing ME2. If Shepard was so against the Alliance why does he/she continue to sport the N7 logo in ME2?

Frankly working with the Alliance again pales in comparison to literally having no choice in whether you work with a Terrorist organization. Also I never got the impression Shepard quit the Alliance, more that he died so his status with them was questionable.

Anderson would have held a gun to your head if you had refused.

Exactly! There's no choice! My Shepard hates aliens, why should he be forced to become their lapdog? It just breaks the immersion.

You know you can hate aliens thorught the entire game... right? Did you even play ME? I think not. Kidding. But you can hate aliens a lot in ME, you just have to know what to say and to who.

Yes, I know, I was being sarcastic. I hate people who complain abut crap like that. 'I was forced to join the Spectres, I was forced to join Cerebus, I was forced to join the Alliance, wah wah wah'

Hasn't Indoctrination always been a simplified explanation?

I mean, when we think "indoctrination" typically the thought is "Reapers!"  But what if TIM finally managed to work all the bugs out and decided he can best save humanity by indoctrinating his own army.

Iakus, I *really* like this idea. It would certainly add an interesting twist to the Cerberus indoctrinated viewpoint.

It's not about hating any one group, or saying my Shepard wouldn't do so. I simply like it when narratives break away from that convention. Jade Empire didn't have the main character join a super secret club, and I consider it one of the better Bioware narratives out there.

I agree, my only question would be how was the indoctrination introduced to his forces, was it fast or slow?

This could be an interesting plot point indeed.

Edit: and here's the codex on Indoctrination: http://masseffect.wi..._Indoctrination

That doesn't explain why Cerberus wants Shepard dead and why they are working with the Reapers in-that-base-in-that-video.

Than he joined the wrong organization.  Want to help people?  Join the Peace Corps and not the Marine Corps.

Shepard is in no way solo this game. He is looking for peace and species to unite against the Reapers. The point of this game is to NOT be solo. To gather armies to find a way to destroy them once and for all.

Casey Hudson said no one will know until ME3 is released... so I suggest stop guessing Cerberus's intentions until the new comic ME: Invasion and the new book ME: Deception. Those are from what I know, the last bit of info on Cerberus's real intentions before ME3.

For the love of...

Do you have someone looking over your shoulder telling you what to do? No. That's what I meant. I know ME2's plot very well.

You obviously did not see the video with the BW spokesman dropping the ball saying "Cerberus is indoctrinated" like a total tool. Probably got fired.....

Maybeh. But if a "Save Kaiden or Ashley" scenario you are screwed in being solo. I doubt you'll try to retake Earth with just the Normandy.
