That doesn't explain why Cerberus wants Shepard dead and why they are working with the Reapers in-that-base-in-that-video.

Casey Hudson said no one will know until ME3 is released... so I suggest stop guessing Cerberus's intentions until the new comic ME: Invasion and the new book ME: Deception. Those are from what I know, the last bit of info on Cerberus's real intentions before ME3.

You obviously did not see the video with the BW spokesman dropping the ball saying "Cerberus is indoctrinated" like a total tool. Probably got fired.....

I have seen it. And it was in the video "Ceberus is indoctrinated, who knows what they'll do." We don't know if it's members or TIM or everyone. Its all speculation lead by that one line.

No, the real fleshy guy said "Cerberus is indoctrinated", not just Shepard. Thus, I am 100% right and your not.

As I said, I know what was said. That line is so vague and you are saying like it is a matter of fact, we don't know anything. We know of the line but not what it means.

Ofcourse cerberus will be indoctrinated.
Who else we going to fight on the ground, hordes of impaled blue zombies?.

And they will probably be lead by some Saren like creature that we saw him turn into in ME1.

Gotta love theorizing!.

Hopefully I can tank the trial and not get re-instated so I can spend the whole game muttering to myself... "One man. Alone. Betrayed by the country he loves..."

Iakus, I *really* like this idea. It would certainly add an interesting twist to the Cerberus indoctrinated viewpoint.

Well, I figure what could be more horrible than Cerberus screwing up (again) and getting themselves indoctrinated by the Reapers?

They do it to themselves!  Perhaps to bolster their numbers.  Or possibly as a form of protection against indoctrination (can you indoctrinate someone who's already indoctrinated?)

EIther way it would put an interesting spin on Paragon Shepard's line after blowing the base:

"I'll fight and win this war without compromising the soul of our species."

Or maybe do the Jack Bauer thing and get "reinstated on a provisional basis" after going rogue.  :D

If Shepard didn't want to get used by the powers that be, then he shouldn't have enlistend in the Corps in the first goddamed place.  Welcome to haveing to hold up your end of voluntary military service.

Shepard died honorably in the line of duty. As far as I'm concerned, Shepard already held up his/her end of the bargain.

I don't hate the Alliance and my Shepard wouldn't flip them off at the expense of the mission. I just feel like my Shepard answers to a higher authority than the human-centric government. And at this point all the Alliance is doing is holding her back by trying to put a leash on her, just like Cerberus. There is more at stake here than Alliance interests, humanity and Earth. Working with the Alliance is just another implication that those are the only things that should matter.

Now that Shepard is reinstated in the Alliance I hope they paint the impounded Normandy Blue. It is my favorite color:D. BTW do players now get suppressors for weapons as a customization?

They did paint it blue. They also slapped Alliance decals all over it. <_<

There is something in the article that interest me more :

In the end of article, there is an intervew vid, play it and pause around 03:08 and play it again

Now around 03:10, there will be a cinematic showing a planet (Earth ? I hope not) being sucked into a black hole, wonder what this means ? One of the ME3 ending ??? :pouty:

EDIT : Also, at the same time, look closely at the right corner of the vid, you can see a ship flying away from the planet, and it very similiar to our beloved Normandy

A lot of the screwing the alliance talk just sounds like pro cerberus fans being annoyed that they're not getting their way this time round, that no matter what they can't work with their beloved cerberus no more.

Seriously, there was no other way that me3 could go other than Shepard being back working with the Alliance and the council otherwise the whole dynamic would have to be completely re-done. We're trying to reclaim earth and unite the galaxy forces to stop the reapers, a lone wolf Shepard or a Shepard who believes Humanity should be numero uno and cerberus is right really is not the best person for the job in the context we're given.

Shepard in me1 became a Spectre which technically put him outside of the alliance, however most of the people on the Normandy were alliance crewmembers, everytime Hackett called Shepard went off to do missions for the Alliance, the normandy itself was an alliance ship.

So getting to me3 and returning being reinstated or working for the alliance makes perfect sense, much more sense than me2's working with cerberus ever did.

It just sounds like sour grapes, my Shepard wants to be a bad guy, a lone wolf, he wants to take over cerberus and make Humanity the only force in the universere blah blah blah.

I'm anti-Cerberus and I don't want to be tied to the Alliance. My Shepard went for the Spectre reinstatement, she works for the Council. Her interests aren't solely tied to humanity, and she wouldn't sacrifice other species' forces just to reclaim Earth.

I don't mind the Alliance. I dislike the Council. But working as a Spectre would give Shep the most authority and flexibility, versus being some kind of lone wolf pirate. Which would be really cool, but I'm not sure if I could see how it'd be working unless there's people out there just willing to give Shepard stuff for free.

Which they really ought to since he's the Space Messiah.

The new information about customization really excites, seems like I'll want to replay ME3 more than 20 times.

PS: You know what? Totally off topic but I tell it anyway. It really annoys me whenever I see Shepard refered as a "she" only. I never played with a femshep, so it's kind of weird for me, although I should be used to. I know it's commonly used as a convenience for whoever writes but could everyone try to use he/she, please? Thank you.

Welcome to my world. I never play ManShep but 'he' is used almost exclusively in reviews and ads and some people on the boards still insist on calling Shepard 'he'.

Personally, I tend to use 'he/she' when referring to Shepard in general and 'she' when referring to things that only relate to my Shepard and her experiences/opinions.

I was hoping the same. I wish we could be done with factions altogether.

This.

Being forced into the alliance again. :(

You do know that the Alliance are the good guys, right?

I for one am very happy to be in the Alliance again.

That's a simplified generalization that isn't completely true, and varries based on point of view. I'd agree if you were talking about the military branch specifically. I really like Anderson and Hackett, and Ash/Kaidan. But the alliance isn't just a military branch. It's controlled by the governmental branch, and they're a bunch of morons who'd rather let aliens dominate humanity, instead of having humans take their rightful place at the side of the alien civilizations, not beneath them. Turians don't have to bow their heads and play servant to the other citadel races. Why should humanity?

For that reason, I tend to favor Cerberus. I don't think dominating or eliminating the alien species is the answer, but their actions are more appropriate considering how humans are percieved by the rest of the galaxy. And as far as them being considered terrorists? The same could be said of Asari Commandos, or the STG. Cerberus hasn't done anything the other species in Citadel space haven't already done. Additionally, they actually did and are still doing something about the Reaper threat. While the Alliance was content to ignore it.

From my point of view, Shepard is the good guy. And the Alliance did everything they could to tear Shepard down and get him/her back on a leash. That doesn't place them very high on the 'People I'm going to try to save' list.

Actually my Shepard is tired of being a part of any organization in the galaxy.  The Council never believed anything until the Citadel was getting wrecked, and then the Council still doesn't believe Shep even after saving their asses, or if an all human council that you paved the way for, claiming it was just the Geth.

The Alliance asked you to do every little thing for them even though you are outside of the chain of command and you have a galaxy saving mission to do.  The Alliance gave very little support whatsoever and then when you come back from the dead and the Alliance learns of your Cerberus affiliation they assume the worst and send your VS to investigate you, no other official Alliance contact is made (yes I understand for game purposes that you couldn't rejoin the Alliance).

Cerberus brought you back to life, so they actually did more for Shepard than any other organization.  But TIM still had to jerk you around like all the other organizations.  So honestly my Shepard is done with all of them.  He has had to do everything on his own already, might as well finish the job on his own.
