Okay so I recently got ME2, the digital version, and i've been trying to install it, but every time I do it goes right to "Installation of Mass Effect 2 has been cancelled" without trying to install. I tried re-downloading it but that had no effect, what could be the problem or what can I do about it?

Not sure what information would be needed regarding my comp but if anything just tell me and I'll post it

Go straight to "Read First". Do not pass Go. Read what it says. Do what it says.

Okay since I can't install it, I can't use the configure, so using ME1s configure, should be the same

The problem (again) is that as soon as I click accept to the EULA, it goes right to the Installation Cancelled window, no errors, no messages, just cancelled. I'm sure I'm clicking agree, and accept, not cancel. I haven't done or changed anything beforehand.

Are you running the installer as admin? It needs administrator privaliges in order to make modifications to the registry and Program Files folders.

Yeah, tried running it in admin, also tried it in a couple different compatibility modes, which didn't also work unfortunately

First thing to try would be searching your hard drive and registry for any entries for ME2 and deleting them, as they may be corrupt and causing any newer attempts at installation to cancel out. CCLeaner and Glary Utilities are decent programs for doing this if you dont like the idea of trawling through your registry manually.
Another thing to try, would be registering your ME2 product key with Origins (EA's download manager), and try downloading it from there, in case the source files from D2D are corrupt.

Okay I downloaded/installed through Origin and it seems to have worked. Thank you very much Bogsnot1
