He isn't alone either, I do the exact same thing, and there are probably many more feeling the same way.

Me three. I think exploring a vast game world is integral to an RPG experience, even an RPG / shooter hybrid like the Mass Effect series.

Lol, yeah.
"Professional critics said Me2 was better and I trust proffesional critics rather than upset forum posters". That sentence sure gave me a good laugh.

I love how everyone here seem to understand the reviewing process of the gaming industry.
Why is a game I hate being loved by everyone else? EA MUST have bought all the reviewers! *gasp*
I mean there's no other possible explanation like maybe the game is great but it just isn't MY type of game. No it can't be because my tastes are superior than the other 90% gamers who enjoyed the game for what it is.
Also Dragon Age 2 got it fair share of bashing. Even Bio-loving game reviewers from IGN thought it was mediocre.

Seriously, this holy war has been fought so many times it's getting ridiculous
Let's hope ME3 combines the best of both games. It's looking that way to me..

I agree with you. ME3 should be the best of the 3. Also, this pic is epic. I love it. I will now make it my FB profile pic.PiEman wrote...

i got pretty much no opinion on cutscenes its just that it gets quite boring to watch a cutscene that has no dialogue weel in it like the beginning of the on the 20th playthrough through it it got boring as all hell i wish skip some cutscenes instead of just being able to skip the damn dialogue the characters are talking

Tis because on it's own DA2 was quite a good game, it just couldn't compare to it's prequel.Ringo12 wrote...

Had it been called DA:Kirkwall or something, people wouldn't bash it as much.
I mean, just look at this thread. The only things people have been able to critisize ME2 for is the places where it is too little like ME1 for their liking.
You couldn't do the same for ME1.
Sure the combat was broken, the vehicle was terrible and the buildings/caves got reused on every planet (the same issue that made DA2 a terrible game) but, because there was no point of reference, it was quite easy to overlook these facts and enjoy the game for what it is, not for what it isn't.
However, professional reviewers add their 2 cents before the bugs have had time to surface. Several bugs in DA2 were gamebreaking.
Mass Effect 2 is a good game. Not liking it for the cutscenes is just stupid.

Out of context, yeah, it is a good game. My initial rant was brought on by going immediately from 1 to 2. But, I'm still playing it, and I like it more now than I did at first. I still wish they had kept more from the first game, I still wish there was more exploration, and god damn the interrupts, but on its own it is a good game.
When a game uses cutscenes to the point it becomes annoying, it is a reason to dislike it. I still say ME2 has too many. The levels start to feel like linear hallways from one cutscene to the next, and that is not to the game's benefit. ME1 kept most cutscenes to the dialogue wheel, and that was fine with me. Having the game constantly go into cutscene while exploring a level is frakking annoying. You could cut half of these things out and the game would feel just as epic.
And yeah, Willy Wonka, I fell off the map for a few years and I'm sort of catching up on games.

Well, the game has a story to tell and cutscenes tell the story. It is better then some loading screen with some guy droning on progressing the story.

I disagree but this isn't the DA forums. I really like Mass Effect 2 though I wasn't saying I think it's horrible. I do wish though that it had better shooter/rg elements. Like I said Deus Ex did it really good.

Oh, I really love punching that freak on the face and by the vids on the Shadow Broker base, she and some Krorgan really love it too! As much as I love ME1 and I usually play a Paragade there, ME2 is much more fun and feels more realistic/satisfying for a Renegon.
ME2 is as horrible as DA:Origins and TW2... the other two games that I can replay forever and will never get sick of them.

Professional CRITIC. Singular not plural.
If you're referring to the PC Gamer review, you have to realize that more than several reviewers from the same site disagreed with the rating. The PC Gamer reviewer for the Witcher 2 said as much when someone asked him about it.
It's a serious flaw in the current reviewing system. The ONE review always ends up representing the view of the whole. They need to change this to a system that deliberates upon a consensus.

My god... FINALLY, a Witcher fan that also likes Mass Effect 2. I was beginning to think that I was the only one that loves both games. It always seems that everyone always either love Witcher 2 and hates Mass Effect 2 or vice versa.
