I've never really been much into replaying any game, so I just made one Shepherd (a Soldier), got them to level 60 in ME1 (required 2 or 3 playthroughs, plus a few more to acquire extra armors, weapon mods and so on), then played ME2 twice with that character (second time was to fix the mistakes I made in the first attempt) and left it there, aside from adding DLC whenever they come out.

If I had too many Shepherds, I feel like my focus would be too diffused,
I wouldn't remember who had chosen what, the skills they used and how best to use them and so on.

I feel it's better to have one really great character then a bunch of mediocre ones.

I have 6 Shepards: 3 male, 3 female, 1 of each class. All starting in ME1.

I have a female Paragon and male Paragon. A female Renegade and a male Renegon. A female Paragade and a male Neutral.

Each one has a different background and a different romance. A couple of them have alternate saves where I went with different romances which means I have the full set.

I've tried to go for different combinations of choices like one would argue for War with the Geth and destroyed the Heretics and one argued for War and converted the Heretics and similarly for Peace.

I only have one run-through where Wrex was killed and one where I gave Legion to Cerberus. I have one where i went with Morinth over Samara. I don't think I ever ran one where I didn't birth Grunt. My Neutral run through had a forked ending where I deliberately skipped most of the loyalty missions and have a few casualties.

Some of them haven't completed all the dlc yet. It will give me something to do while I'm waiting for ME3

I got one of each class. Five male one female. Each have their own personality and canon. Might add another femShep, but I'm not very good at roleplaying her. My only femShep is my Paragon girl scout who is celibate.

I've probably beat ME1+ME2 a dozen times now though.

A lot, really. I've played these games countless times. However, I have three main Shepards that I intend to import into ME3, as follows:

1) John Shepard (default), Soldier, Earthborn / Sole Survivor, Paragon, Loyal Ashley Romance
2) Jane Shepard, Adept, Spacer / War Hero, Renegade, Kaidan Romance in ME1, Thane in ME2
3) Alana Shepard, Engineer, Colonist / Ruthless, Paragon (atoner), No ME1 LI, Thane in ME2

I have two different Shepards. Both males. Have about 25+ playthroughs total.

I think I had about 7.. or 8 once. Deleted all of them except my femshep playthrough and 2 males Shepards. Made some mistakes with the others and I figured instead of replaying the game with that character, might as well delete those and make a new one. So yeah, 3 characters are left. A soldier, an adapt and an engineer.

Conrad Shepard is only save I got, but I have played him in many ways. My current "main" walktrough is Vanguard one. It's the class I love. I just can't seem to be able to play as renegade, the choices just rub me the wrong way.

I have done some minor renegade choices. But, that's about it. Paragon is the way for me.

I have 7 and from those 4 are level 60 from Mass Effect probably will go through 2 more playthroughs so I have my 2 male sheps classes as femsheps....hot femsheps.

On ME2, I´ve got all classes, with a dead infiltrator and one extra Vanguard. I plan on doing a insane playthrough and then probably 3 more imports from ME1 (after finishing them xD).

So that´s around 11 playthroughs, and then it depends if I need more diverse outcomes ^^

On ME1, I have 3 playthroughs of the same char (to get to 60, Vanguard), then a lvl 55 Infiltrator, I´ve also played an insanity playthrough with a soldier. I´m currently playing an adept, and plan to have playthroughs with a Sentinel and an Engineer as well =)

And I think half of my ME2 playthroughs are imports from masseffectsaves.com =D Just couldn´t wait to get done with my one games xD

I have one shep. Once I beat ME3 with my one true shepard, I will go back to ME1 and start a new sheps story and play him/her through ME3.

I don't play Paragon/Renegade, instead I have a character who does everything right and a character who does everything wrong. Both use a mix of paragon and renegade options.

Full Renegade that lets every possible character live, including Fist.
Full Paragon
Chaos Renegade. They all die. Makes the worst possible decisions including completely skipping some choices.

I have another Shepard that cheated on Liara and now is with Miranda, wanna see what turns out haha

And my choices don't stray too far from what I did last time.
