For the longest time I only had one Shepard. I didn't create my second Shepard until a year after ME2 had been released. Now I have three, all female. I have taken on male Shep through ME1, but not ME2.

Got 5 Shepards waiting for ME3.
2 Malesheps (my canon paragade and a renegade aswell).
3 Femsheps (Pure paragon, pure renegade and a "Worst-possible-ME2" Failshep).

lol people remembering their Shep's names and everything
i think i have shep per class remember only the most intresting ones. all sheps are imported
Vanguard- renegade- Garrus- anti- cerberus - ss/spacer ( my fav shep)
the soldier-foreveralone no romance- extreme paragon- earthborn/warhero
engineer- chaotic renegade- garrus- spacer/ruthless- anticerberus as well
my first ever Shep : Kiska Shepard( yes kiska.. gtfo)- chaotic paragon- kaidan<garrus- fail game all wrong decisions
and then there is this one which i made for teh lulz: thane/jacob- sentinel-prohuman- colonist/ruthless- very ugly - killed everyone in suicide mission included herself
and only one manshep xDDDDD John Shepard " Sheploo" for friends... paragon-tali<jack( jack)-soldier-earthborn/warhero- very good guy always helping everyone ... blindly

I have to ask, if in ME 2 the option to kill Shepard was open. Why is there no optional storyline for ME 3. I personally feel the option to kill Shepard was a dead end, that would have no effect in ME 3. I feel this should have never of been an option.

The option to kill Shepard is a dead end. It's like reading through a choose your own adventure and finding an ending where your character dies. You don't get to keep reading from a new character's perspective. You have to start over.
This is Shepard's story. Not the galaxy's, not humanity's, but Shepard's. No Shepard, no story.
I have two Shepards. Elias Shepard and Elizabeth Shepard. They're both Paragades, but the distribution of their decisions is different. Elias is a Spacer/Sole Survivor and largely defined by his Alliance background and his hatred of Cerberus; Elizabeth is a Colonist/War Hero and distrusts more or less everyone but herself and has an incredibly strong hatred for slavers. It didn't help that she was romancing Kaidan and then left him to die on Virmire, either.

then why kill him and not have it effect ME3? Cassey Hudson said an option to Kill Shepard for good. So I figured a new hero would rise. If not, GREAT now I have to replay 2 entire playthroughs.

I have about 30 Shepards to import. I don't really want to have to go back and play the entire trilogy again just for a certain runthrough. I just document all the info into a handy dandy notebook so I won't get mixed up on who did what.
