So Im trying to get my character to level 60 before I import him into ME2.

In my first play through I had done damn near all the side missions, killed "I don't know how many thresher-maws" on foot, and ended up on level 56. On my second play through I got to level 57 on the beggining of the therum level; before you get to liara.

What I want to know is, "will I be able to make it to level 60, and will I have to bascially kill everything out of the mako (if given the oppurtunity, and do all the side missions again?)

Also.....un-related....sort of.

I was wondering if I should get the pinnacle station DLC. What is it? and is their a good story.......for a dlc.....and will i get anything cool, like armor, guns.....and more xp

thanks in advance

If you have the bonuses for max XP and you kill everything outside the mako and do EVERYTHING you can/should get to level 60 in two plays.....but it is often faster to do a speed run ie main missions only get the bonuses for charm/intimdate and then do a more complete but maybe not 100% complete run for import, if you know the flags that are set in ME. Remember once you hit level 60 you will stop getting XP, so you don't have to kill things you can drive by or ignore.....making a third run at level 60 can be quite fast if you think about it.

Pinnacle station liked by some, and not others. You can buy some gear, get XP and all, but the Specter X guns are still the best. Armor is colossus as the best. I personally have never gotten around to buying and many people say, "save your money" but others like it. Get it if you want extra play and have the extra money.

I think you can farm thresher maws. Can't you?

You can land on a planet and go loiter around the flatlands and kill the thresher maw (Last hit it outside the mako) then leave the planet and come back and do it again. I think the Maw gives like 2300xp. It would be pretty tedious but I think you can probably get 60 doing that.

Pinnacle station is pretty cool if you like the combat in ME1. It comes with 0 unique items. Just some new challenges to do. They do offer XP also. I am a completionist so I got it just because. I am happy I did.

It offers XP but not per kill. You get pretty much nothing out of it in terms of XP and items. It's very important to note that it's NOT possible to grind XP in the combat simulations.

You must have done a char before because you can only get to level 50 on a very very first play through... and then, need 2 play throughs. After level 57 I believe, it's very steep XP to get to 60. I did it in a total of 3 playthroughs (my first capped at 50, but did nearly everything so unlocked the XP acheivments) I got to 57 on 2nd playthrough, doing minimal assignments sprinting through it. Then got to 60 on third doing everything again, as remember the level 60 one however you want things to transfer, paragon, choices, etc. I made sure to redo everything how I wanted. The XP bonus achievements helped a lot.

The Pinnacle Station you can get best armor and guns all it's good for, instead of loot - even by my third playthrough I hadn't even gotten a Colossus X armor yet. Bring Down The Sky was great XP and story, and loot too, and cool decisions that transfer to ME2. Definitely worth it!!!

My last play through was a 57 as well,,I didnt do the pinnacle station combat scenarios,But I did search and kill everything to try and get to a 60,, But still cant,,,I think if you play the pinnacle missions you get xp because The points to get it are Steep,,,,I love the pinnacle missions there hard at first but fun to me,,,Some complained about it and had lame opinions but If you a truue fan of the mass effect universe all the downloadable content you can get is worth it!!

Can anyone confirm or deny the ability to farm thresher maws? I don't really care to try myself but if you kill a maw and then go back to that planet will it regrow?

I managed it, but it wasn't easy....It took both DLC's and out of the Mako at every opportunity

You get pretty decent XP with Pinnacle Station...It's not a great story, but its not horrible either, I'm kinda 'meh' about it...does give you those needed points though.

I returned to one planet in the Artemis Tau system I think it was....and No, the Thresher Maw was gone.

You can get to level 60 in two complete playthroughs; I have two Shepards who are level 60 and I only did two playthroughs. First playthrough I got to level 57 though, but it should be fine. I was going to level up my other four Shepards (I have one Shep per class) but I decided to not bother, as the difference between a level 50-59 import and a level 60 import aren't that significant to warrant that extra effort.

As an aside, I don't know why people don't mod ME's config file to fix that 'Mako kills giving you less than half the XP you're entitled to' thing, assuming you have the PC version. If you're playing on the xbox then disregard.

As for pinnacle station, never got it, never saw the point of it to be honest. The combat gameplay of ME1 isn't the biggest draw for me. As far as I know, there is virtually no story in that DLC, unlike say for example Bring Down the Sky, which is a pretty decent story as these things go.

In my experience, the most XP that can be earned in a single play through is right around 480K (without Pinnacle Station, but with BDtS), and that involves maximizing XP gains to the point of absurd micro-management.

I average about 460K per play through in ME1 without Pinnacle Station. However, I gather every resource, kill every enemy on foot, get every codex, and unlock just about every container in the game. In order to go from 56 to 60, you will have to do just about everything that I mentioned, as the difference between 56 and 60 is right around 460K XP.

There is more information at the wiki (masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Experience_Guide) and I find the checklist at masseffect.shockfront.net/ invaluable.

EDIT: Also, in my experience Thresher Maws do not respawn. However, I have encountered a bug with certain Maws where you can kill them twice, and get the experience popup both times (though I haven't confirmed whether experience is actually gained both times). My guess is that it has to do with killing the Maw as it is submerging, at which point it will pop back up and can be killed again. However, I haven't been able to reproduce the bug with any kind of regularity.

The predator l/m/h line by Armax Arsenal has higher shield ratings and physics thresholds. It loses pretty hard to colossus on the dr rating though.  To my way of thinking the dr is the most important rating on the armor, since it still works once the shields go down or on stuff that bypasses shields, but your mileage may vary.

Ok I can confirm that you can get to level 56-60 on one play through. I know some people were having some issues. But I killed everything.....everyhthing outside of the mako. I shot and killed everything that spawned without blowing up the **** (from which they spawn). I did every side mission, and earned every bit of XP that I could. I leveled up just around the part where I left Illos or during your arrival back onto to the citadel when saren's attacking.

With the exp boosts from the three achievements, I've barely hit 58 in one run. And this was on my fourth or fifth new Profile. Other's have tested to the same result.

The only way to hit 60 in one run is to cheat with an infinite exp glitch.
