Hello ,

I'm new to the game. I just just picked up Dragon's Age: Origins  Ultimate edition, which includes the awakenings expansions and I believe most if not all of the dowloadable content (DLC).

My question is simple.  Is there a consensus on the order of which these should be played?

I know logically it would probably make most sense to play through the Original storyline first then Awakenings. And I'm guessing once it's all done, to play through the DLC stuff.

But my gut feeling tells me there maybe another order that is recommended.. Such as doing some of the DLC before or after a partcular point in the story.

Anyway that's why I'm asking :)

Thanks, Rewban.

Most of the DLC either adds in-game content or is generally intended to be played after the main campaign.

There is one exception: "Leliana's Song" is sort of a prequel that provides additional background about the companion character Leliana. Even so, I would think it would be preferable to get to know her within the main game before you play that DLC.

I know logically it would probably make most sense to play through the Original storyline first then Awakenings. And I'm guessing once it's all done, to play through the DLC stuff.

That is what I would suggest.

Some DLC will result in bonus items for the main campaign when finished, though playing them might result in story spoilers.
It should be pretty safe though to play Leliana's Song first, get the achievement to get the bonus item and then play Origins.
That would be the best compromise between story integrity and powergaming.

I'd do it this way:
DA:O
Leliana's Song
Awakenings
Golems of Amgarrak
Witch Hunt
Darkspawn Chronicles

As Pasquale said, it'd probably be better to finish DA:O before doing Leliana's Song despite the fact that it takes place earlier in the chronology. The DLC fleshes out her backstory, and it might not make much sense until you talk to her in the main game and finish her personal quest,

Darkspawn chronicles can be done anytime after DA:O I guess. It's alternate history rather than an addition to the lore.
