After i escape the leviathan and go through the subsequent space battle my game stops responding and crashes to desktop. I have tried disabling the cutscenes but when I try and load the next area it still crashes. I have not been able to find a fix for this, I have verified steam cache as well.

I used to have that problem on my laptop [winvista] The only way I could get round it was to hammer [Esc] as soon as the cutscene starts. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I believe that the game has trouble loading the shooting sequence that comes immediately afterwards. The only other thing I can suggest is to reinstall it. Also are you running win7 64bit?

Oh and is it patched to the latest version?

I'm having the same issue. I destroy all the fighters and right after the game crashes. I'm on windows 7 and patched to the latest version.

I had the same problem and was able to find a fix. I did however need to download a save-game editor and have a save before facing malak in order to do it.

all you have to do is us the save-game editor to remove my "used a cheat" status from a save-game before facing malak. after that i was able to continue playing normally. Hope this helps you.

There is a second option if somebody would try to get over the part with my save in his game maybe on xp: ))

Same here, tried everything, reducing to 256 colors, turning movies off..

Reload a save before Malak. (Don't know why it worked for me, but it did. I assume something occasionally gets set wrong in the fight.)

I just had this same issue and tried everything including full uninstall and reinstall with patching (i'm installing from CD and not Steam) and setting compatibility to Win XP SP3 since I am running on Win7 64-bit and it turns out it is a bug in the software related to who exits through the Hangar door leaving the Leviathon. I would lose control of my player and switch to Carth after the battle with Malak to reach the hangar and the cutscene always showed just my player running to the Ebon Hawke. Then I found this Forum: http://forums.steamp...d.php?t=2031098 and so at the Hangar entrance I switched to my player, which I could control again, maybe all the other stuff I tried fixed that, and I exited to the Hangar as my player and this time the cutscene showed my player and Carth running to the Ebon Hawke and, what do you know, after destroying the fighters there was no system crash. Yay!!
