Hi there. I just downloaded an Isabela mod. I am happy with the look of her in the mod except for her skin coloring. Shes very much lighter than in the original game and I would like to darken her up. Is there a way I can edit the erf file to change her skin tone? Thanks

Ok, there a a few things you will need.

First, you'll have to export the ERF file using gffeditor (you can find it in the stickied "modding tools" thread). You do this by opening the editor, file, export all, go to the erf, export it to a seperate folder.

Then, you'll need to edit the dds file. It is the file labelled xxxxx_d.dds. This is the texture file. I use gimp with a dds plugin.

Once you've made your changes, you need erfpacker (also in the tools thread). Drag the folder you extractred, including your changed file, into erfpacker. This will create a new erf file with your changes.

If you upload it, remember to ask permission from the original mod author to use their work. :)

I'm also trying to do this for a mod that I like. I followed your instructions to no avail. I just want to lighten up the robes of a mod I downloaded.

I take the mod's erf file, export the files, open the DDS in Gimp, change the color and save it. I then use Erfv3 Packer to change it back to an erf.

That should be it right ? Then I just put it in my Override folder like any other mod. Don't know what I'm not doing. The robes in the game won't show my change, or even the mod change.

Don't know what I'm not doing. I tried this with a different erf file, also to no avail. Evidently I'm missing a step somewhere.

Got it worked out, just had to make a new blank folder to put the "art" folder in, instead of changing the name of the art folder itself.
