I was playing the feros mission in me1 when i came across a very specific crash zone thing.
Right after you reach the ExoGeni Headquarters there is a ram going up. But when i go up that ramp i encounter this strange black line going across the road. once i cross this line i continue to play for a few seconds when suddenly "MASS EFFECT HAS STOPPEED WORKING"
I am playing on win7 64 bit.,

Backup your saves and try a reinstall. It looks like corrupted data.

i got this off of steam (took about 4 days to download) so if there is a way to fix it besides that i would be grateful to hear about it.

try playing in windows mode
try lowering your graphics quality and effects
