In other news Witcher 2 just released yet another DLC. Totally free. What is that? 3 DLCs since launch in May? All of them free with the promise that all future DLC will cost nothing? Hmmm..

I played TW2 and DA2 and even though I enjoyed both of them, I find myself completely uninterested in TW2 DLCs, while I'm eagerly awaiting Legacy. DA 2 plays as a fantasy adventure, while TW2 has way too many political intrigues for my tastes. To each his own, I guess.
On that note - less than 24 hours until Legacy ^_^

TW2 has yet to release anything really substantial, I'll give ya that. What amounts to a few quests usually doesn't measure up to what most people consider to be true DLC. That being said; I'll take a little content for a good game over a sizable amount of content for a bad game.

I'm not really seeing how TW2 is made only for guys. Just because the main character is a male doesn't mean it's just for that gender.

Just set up a new playthrough for it, Momma's alive and Carver's a warden.
I will wake up early for it, even though it probably won't be available in the UK until like 11am..

Depends on the reviews, unlikely though.

I am bored, IRL stuff is working out just nicely. I'll be all over that DLC when it arrives, then abandon the game again.

Anyone knows exactly when it becomes available today?

I'll buy Legacy, or not buy it, based on what the majority of fan reviews have to say.

My hesitation, however, is based solely on the quality of DA:O DLC, and has nothing to do with the quality of DA2. I enjoyed DA2 very much; even though it had a fair few flaws, my main feeling on finishing it was satisfaction. My main feeling on finishing most DA:O DLC, however, was disappointment, even stretching, when I finished Witch Hunt, to outrage. (For a short time, anyway. Ultimately, a minor thing like a game DLC isn't worth getting upset about.)

Nope.
Maybe when it's bundled in an 'ultimate edition' or something.

I don't think it's fair to accuse them of having distorted priorities. I think maybe it's more accurate to simply point out to them that their priorities do not reflect the majority. For example, I absolutely hate how easy games are. I loved how frustratingly difficult old NES games were because the feeling you get when you get slightly further or in the rare case actually beat the game (I'm lookin at you T.M.N.T) was better than the hollow feeling of finishing a game that was a cake-walk. When I was in my youth I raged pretty hard about such things but I realized that I'm in the minority and that it's not realistic to expect every company to make things I like - instead I simply look for games that have decided to aim for that niche market (or just play old games).

This. Totally this.

I am not the target market for videogames anymore.  I get that.  My choices are to enjoy the games I can today and play the classics or to whine endlessly on forums and enjoy nothing.  I go for the former.  Dragon Age 2 was not the game I would have made and less my style than the original but I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy playing it.

It isn't for men, I am a woman, and I like playing women characters, but I love TW2. And Quite frankly, TW2's political intrigue make DA2'a attempt looke like a child's version in crayola. Do I still love BioWare fantasy? Yep. But dark and gritty it is not. Which is good. my job is dark and gritty enough.

Bought it. And it's definitely worth it. I'm still on my first playthrough of it, and so far I haven't encountered any flaws with it.

I rather enjoyed it, except I don't care much for the whole use traps on the field against enemies thing. Good news is, I can ignore them and destroy the mob myself.

I would like longer DLC's but I never get buyers remorse from Bioware content so it's still money well spent.

I'll buy it, probably not for a while though but that's because I just don't have the time to sit down with it right now.

No. I won't be burned by DAII again.

If the word of mouth for DAIII is positive I may give this franchise another chance.

For those who didn't purchase the DLC, I will say just buy it since it is way more better than Dragon Age 2 itself.

Wasn't going to buy it.. .but noticed I had a bunch of Bioware points I haven't spent / used in a long time, so figured what the hell, use 'em up.

Surprised to say I did not regret it at all.. the DLC was thoroughly enjoyable... wish the rest of the game was like it (while I didn't hate DA2, I felt it was very... average... this DLC is quite damn good in comparison).

Same story as Hathur. Wasn't going to buy it, wasn't expecting much, played through and was quite pleasantly surprised. This is some of Bioware's best DLC right here. If you don't like the actual combat mechanics of DA2 and were hoping the game would be reverted to DAO, well, this isn't it. But if you were okay with the combat itself aside from parachuting enemies in the base campaign, you should know all the enemy spawning in this DLC is sensible and well-implemented. There's also some great dialogue between the player and companions, and the companions chattering amongst themselves.

Great stuff here in my opinion.

*Nods* It sounds like they put a fair amount of effort into this and took some of the complaints into account. I'm one of those for whom nothing short of a complete overhaul of the combat mechanics/animations and a real inventory, among other things, would make the game enjoyable, so I didn't buy it, but I can appreciate the effort that was made. It's a DLC, so it can only do so much. The general mechanics of the game are what they are. Within that, what I'm hearing is that they did very well.
