Nope, don't feel like going back into DAII any time soon.

You're apparently keen on discussing it though.

I believe everyone has the right to not like DA2. Hate it even. But the best way to move a company is to NOT purchase their products or use their services. Leave. If enough critics do, Bioware will be forced to change their products to try to win you back and you will win no matter how much I may like the game.

I like story-focused DLC, so yes, I'll buy it.

Once I have the money for it, I'll be buying Legacy.

After watching the preview demo from the other thread, I can say that I will not be purchasing Legacy DLC.  And I am so disappointed, because I really think Dragon Age 2 is a solid game, and I would love to support it.

The $10 is not much. If it is what it takes to get a feel for how they have listened to feedback and stay in the discussion, I'll pay it. If I end up disappointed, at least I gave the franchise a chance before leaving it.

I can't say I will purchase the DLC. The thing about DLC is its catch is monopolizing on an awesome game that you do not want to end. I purchase many DLC, but admit they are very short, and barely more than a reason to revive a great game for an hour or two.

In DA2's case, it wasn't a very good game, and the hero wasn't all that interesting or memorable(to me). It is a shame I can't be interested enough in the Hawke story to buy this, I did like Varric and Aveline a lot.

Mostly I am a bit annoying that my big wish of exploring some of the history of the Wardens was granted, the catch is I have to play Hawke to see it.......... I'd rather not.

I'd say this would be a bargain bin purchase but DLC's never lower in price, so I pass.

Yes, I'll buy it as soon as it becomes available.  Unfortunately, I doubt I'll be able to play immediately as that's the same day that Butcher's "Ghost Story" comes out.  I'll be haunting my front windows, waiting for the UPS guy. :D

I'm sorry, BioWare.  I feel I'm letting you down, not playing it as soon as I get it, but I've been waiting for the resolution to this cliffhanger for a year and a half, now.:wizard:

I love cliffhangers, which is probably why I loved DAII so much.  People who want every little plot point wrapped up in a tidy little bow annoy me.  Where's the mystery?  Where's the fun?  I'm always up for loose ends that engage the imagination. :)

Oh crap, Ghost Story comes out then?

Well, now I know what I'll be spending my day doing ;) I think I've suddenly become ill with some sort of time-delay sickness.

As it their right. As it is your right to ignore their posts and not comment on them. As is your right to sing nothing but praises about DA2 if you wish. And?

I'm leaning towards yes. The trailer made me kind of nostalgic for Hawke & co. and I do still have the game installed, but if it gets panned the way Witch Hunt did I'll skip it. I did actually buy Witch Hunt (yeah yeah I know) when it came out but I've learned my lesson.

Yeah I'll get it. If it turns out only being decent/mediocre/okay like DA 2 was and not excellent like DAO or at least good then I'll be a little disappointed.

(For me: DAO - Excellent. DA 2 - Okay/Mediocre. What Legacy should be - At least Good.)

The team screwed up DA2 for me, I will most likely watch my friend play it and decide whether or not its worth the money.

Hope they atleast come out with more patches to fix/improve DA2...

It looks interesting enough, and I certainly hope it's entertaining for those that purchase it, but it's a DLC I'll be passing on. I'd feel like an absolute hypocrite for voicing my disappointment in DA2 and then turning around and spending more money on it.

Lucky for you there's this neat little thing called "free choice", indeed another called "changing one's mind"...even this crazy one called "taking a chance".
But really, if you feel so strongly about not buying DLC because you were disappointed with the original, then good luck to you!
By the way, just between you and me, BioWare is actually trying to improve things for their fans with some good DLCs, some of which are reported to even address some of our concerns. Would be a shame for you to miss out on that, don't you think?

Aye I've literally had both on my calendar. I'll confess I'm with SKR on this one. A new Dresden novel supercedes nearly everything.

No matter how much good the DLC does in regards to fixing flaws and how good its story is, some people will find some other flaw in it and make hyperbolic statements about it and how CRPGs are ruined.

It happens on here like clockwork I think. It's the condemnation of Mike Laidlaw that does this usually, which I feel is unjustified and uncalled for. Or just that it focuses on Hawke, which is somewhat justified because even this DLC won't address the other flaws in DA2's story that involve Hawke.

Now EA are the real people who should be blamed, specifically the people like Riccitiello or whatever his name is. Evil people with their grins of pure, unmitigated, concentrated evil.....

If I was the last man on earth, and Legacy was the last DLC on earth, and all other sources of entertainment had been destroyed in an earthquake, and 50 hours from now a meteor was going to destroy earth....

I would spend my last fifty hours holding my copy of DA2 in front of me as the meteor fell, just to make sure I saw it die before the meteor crushed me.

buying DLC for DA2 is like ordering the Special Edition Blue Ray of the Star Wars Prequels.

Yes ... because the price of a movie ticket is worth a chance for Bioware to impress me. And I really want them to impress me.

That said, we're rapidly approaching 'last chance' territory. ME2 has already convinced me not to pre-order ME3, and unless Legacy is quite special I might not be buying DA3 at all. I hope Bioware really is raking in the sales from their 'alleaping to a wider audience' strategy but if the trend continues I'll be one of those who is left behind.

I don't know. I'm almost sure I'll not get it on release (but I never bought a dlc on release date). I'll wait to see how good it is from user/critic reviews.

Nope but if it gets very good reviews and I see more gameplay of it I might cave in and buy it.
