The problem is the conflict was poorly done. We had insane Starkhaven Circle mages like Decimus and Quentin, and sadistic templars like Ser Alrik and Ser Kerras, and two antagonists from both sides who decided that acting like utter morons at the conclusion of the storyline in a poor attempt to make things seem morally complex when they were anything but. I don't even understand why they created a war between the templars and the mages when players will never be allowed to decide the outcome of the conflict, since they will never accomodate both versions for every future sequel.

Okay, point. There were a lot of problems. But I still feel the root of the problem was doing the mage/templar conflict as a main focus to begin with.

I have to disagree. I just think Bioware did a poor job at portraying the mage-templar conflict. The concept is great and had it been done right, it would've been amazing. But because it was done horribly it appears like the whole conflict itself was the problem.

Which isn't true considering how many mage-templar threads have popped up prior to and after DA2. The plight of the mages was a hot topic.

War, mages, templars, chantry, qunaries thats hot stuff, it doesn't matter if you like them or hate them, they are all good topics talk about and the post can get quite fiery hehee.

Shale alive doens't mean anything for me, mywarden never kept the anvil, if tomorrow bioware come up and said: Logahian is alive, I know I'll pay to see if this "evil" character can become even more interesting that before. He is a very good written character I know he dies in my games, but this is a game, won't matter to me, maybe I even make an Orlisian Mage-warde and make Loghain her Li.. lol! think of the possibilities!

Bah, a shotgun is a very poor choice for that.  You need range, not heavy damage.  Any animal that flies is going to be very fragile.  Mother nature has to sacrifice a lot of natural defenses for the reduced weight.  Thin skin, weak skeletal structure, and very little redundant blood.  Whereas if you let them get close, you find out why they share a name with the sickle-toed murderlizards of Jurassic Park.  See that animal it's diving down at in that picture?  That damn thing is 12 foot tall and 500 pounds.
