Including MP in ME3 limits the amount of money you can make from the game. True MP gamers won't really want to touch a game that has always been SP with the expectation that the MP bolted onto it might be good. However if a game that is designed from the start to be MP is more likely to attract them.
That said, there has been no real news from the Devs to support or quash the rumours, so we'll just have to wait and see.

I would like to ask you to take a look at your signature and realize why my observation is more accurate, good sir.Mr.Kusy wrote...
Not accuracy, you just made it more universal.

Sure it's cool that they reached the level of movie in making and one book being writen by someone outside of the company... but it's still a BioWare thing and I don't think they even would like to change it.

I also like when people talk about a spinoff game made by someone else. Whoever said that, you know I mean you. Thinking that Mass Effect is a franchise big enough to "hire" more developers working for it like for example... let's say Star Wars is being delusional.

Another EA studio could easily make a spin-off if the new series weren't RPGs and ME3 was popular enough.

hell, BW's own montreal studio could well work on it, if they weren't already working on x number of features and content for ME3.

Personally I don't get the logic of MP in ME3. EA is all about money, so surely if MP is so popular with folks wouldn't they want to rake in as much cash as possible by selling a new game for a premium price after ME3?

You mean like Assassins Creed, which went through 2 games before adding MP onto the next game? Granted I don't think Brotherhood (or the upcoming Revelations for that matter) is what Ubisoft would declare as a 'sequel', more a 'follow-on' from 2 seeing as Ezio is still involved, but still... I doubt when they initially setup the story for AC they had in mind of bringing MP into it until after the first was such a hit.
Whilst I understand that there are some people who only play MP style games, I imagine there is way more that like both SP and MP. So the point am trying to make here is that I can understand the logic in adding MP to ME3, specially as we're now at the stage where there are several ways they could approach it either in a PvP or PvE approach. Although out of the two am going to guess initially for the ME3 add-on it would be a PvE/Horde scenario otherwise they'd have to mess with the classes way more than required for a simple 'add-on' feature.

It would't happen to have been during the production of starcraft ghost could it? Also did those jobs talk about psn/live? If not they probably had nothing to do with consoles.Aargh12 wrote...

Maybe there will be no multiplayer but then you see things like this.

I've seen similar offerts in regards to Blizzard and console games since Warcraft 3. I haven't seen Blizzard console game ever since Diablo 1 and SC1.

There have been treads asking about muliplayer for a few days now and nobody from Bioware has said anything either way. ( Yes we've had tweets in the past, but that was a while back now and things can change )
EA have gone on record as saying that single player is dead ( which it most certainly isn't ) and that multiplayer is the way of the future. ( Again, which it most certainly isn't )
As EA own Bioware, no matter what Bioware have said in the past - If EA turn around and tell Bioware that they have to include multiplayer, then Bioware have no choice in the matter. Have no illusions - Bioware have only as much control as EA allow them to have.

MP rumor has been here long time, digg some old threads in ME general section, there is a lot of them. It started when Bioware first time was looking game designer with also MP experience requirement. People just connect they own desire of MP that it was ME3 related. That's same what they do now. Point been MP requirement can be any other game related too what Bioware gonna do in future.Orkboy wrote...

Sorry, I have a habit of rambling on and then forgetting to actually stick the main point of my topic on the end. lol
The unspoken point of my post was that despite all of the speculation we won't know for certain untill the game comes comes out but if EA wanted multiplayer included then Bioware wouldn't have a say in hthe matter.
Personally in my opinion, the game wouldn't suit true multiplayer as it is currently stands as it's just too rough and sloppy when compaired to the likes of Battlefield, Gears of War, etc.
There's no way the classes could be ballanced and make it work.
The only way multiplayer could possibly work is co-op, but then it would no longer be Shepherds story anymore unless you had two of them running around ( which would be stupid ) and who would decide which conversation choice to pick or where to go next?
Sorry, but in the current trilogy - muliplayer in any form is stupid as it was never envisaged with miltiplayer in mind.
A new game built around muliplayer from the ground up could work, but not if it was part of Shepherds story.
But we'll have to see when the game comes out I guess.
Anyway, to get this thread back on track...
I would love a demo. Especially if it came out before the game and especially if it included the team mate customisation - Which depending on how it's handled is a major factor on wether I buy the game or not.

Yeah, that what I think most of us assume too with same reasons than you do. No real point to spoil ME3 single player Shepard experience, when you can build your next ME game a much better compability game design for MP.Orkboy wrote...

Chris' behaviour originally - locking down threads even mentioning the prospect of mp - seemed far more suspicious to me than their recent behaviour of silence, tbh. if it is being done, it's not a suddent thing, and if done right (and doesn't detract from SP) it could be a good addition to the franchise - 2 huge studios for one sp game may be overkill (yes it's a big game, but still...).
