no race will be wiped out on my watch.they will all survive to see the dawn (if the game allows it)

as for the squad mates whoever i feel would have the most emotional impact but who is also an acceptable loss.

at this point anyone other than ash,legion,garrus,wrex and jacob im ok with dying in the final installment.


EDIT: kaidan,jack,grunt,samara, and thane are alredy dead in my game.

and, well Thane is already dying, I think he'd be cool with it (plus it allows him to gain ultimate redemption for the evil deeds of his past, so it's really a gift to let him sacrifice himself for the universe)

I try to roleplay my Shepard first and foremost as a realistic Marine officer and as a first rate combat leader. As such, if it ever comes down to having to choose between two squad mates (like Virmire) personal considerations such as who Shepard is friendlier with won't come into play. He's got a duty to everyone on his team not just the one he's romancing or the ones he's closest to. It would be a tactical decision.

On Virmire he assigned Kaidan to the nuke because he had a tech background and Ashley didn't. When both the nuke site and the team on the AA tower came under attack, Shepard pressed on towards the AA tower because it was a choice between saving one squad mate (Kaidan) and another (Ashley) PLUS what remained of the Salarian team. It was a tactical consideration to maximize the amount of people he could evac. That, and he was confident that if worse came to worse and Kaidan was overrun, he could still trigger the nuke.

If it came down to choosing between species however, the decision would be based on both strategic and geopolitical considerations. Who do we most need in the fight against the Reapers and who benefits humanity most in the post war? A choice between Batarians and Asari for example? The Batarians join T-Rex. A choice between the Turians or the Quarians? The Turians may pose more of a threat to humanity but they have the galaxy's most power fleet while the Quarians are piloting 300 year old space junk. Sorry Tali.

You know it is kind of amusing - I always had Kaiden assigned to the nuke for the tech experience to, but when it came down to the rescue I always went after him, because salarians are a special ops team, they know what to do, but if the nuke does not go off it's the end of the operation, my Shep always got the job done, so I always chose the nuke site.
Funny how the same logic can lead to the opposite decisions

Krogans and Wrex.

Not because I dislike them at all. The opposite. I love the Krogans and Wrex is my Shep's bro.
In terms of story though I can't see any other race being sacrificial. Most of them are too large, powerful, or technical for a species-wide-sacrifice to make sense. The Krogans on the other hand are already on the verge, they're head strong, and if anyone is going to go down and take as many effing reapers with them as possible it'll be the Krogans. With Wrex leading the charge.

I'd sacrifice the Quarians, they don't have anything worth saving them for. Turians-fleet, asari-biotics, Krogan-sheer power, Geth-technical abilities, Salarians-technology, Volus-information and economical power. Tough luck, bucketheads

I prefer keeping all my squadmates alive, but I could live with loosing Thane- never needed his abilities in combat so he stayed dying on the ship.

Krogan (because most people suggested the Batarians but I think that a) my Paragon Shepards would feel very guilty about what happened in Arrival and b)yes Batarians are slave traders and what not but the Krogans are just as aggressive and work with them and c)it's possible that the Batarians don't have much more to offer when it comes to technology or whatever but the Krogans don't even have any kind of interest in it...)

(but I'd be willing to sacrifice everyone,so if we have to choose more than once I'd choose to sacrifice whoever has the least to loose/to offer - which would probably mean the humans go first)

If I had to sacrifice any race an any teammate it would be Quarians, and the elcor,

Team mates Tali not a big fan of hers, and on some of my playthroughs Ashley except for my playthrough where she is my LI or Morinth for trying to kill me by seducing me.

Everyone and every race are expendable, as long as the Reapers lose. I mean really, if I had a choice to sacrifice loved ones and an entire species to stop galactic destruction, I'd do it. Without hesitation. It would save more then have ever lived.


Or should I not sacrifice people, only to have all civilization destroyed, everyone I know dying anyway, and then 50,000 years later, it all happens again? Any sacrifice that's necessary should be taken.
