Its "Powers of the Blood" its basicaly two unique abilities based of of your Wardens class.
They are usualy pretty good to have.

They are related to Blood Magic but use the Taint in the Blood of the Wardens as their power source.

There is no negative consequence and you get two unique abilities from it. At worst, if you never use them, you lost the two seconds it took to drink the vial while completing Soldier's Peak.

Some of the powers are quite good. Warriors get an AoE stun in exchange for 40 hp. I believe mages also recieve a nice power. It's been too long.

Well it's not like it hurts and they can be useful in some situations. Warriors get Blood Fury which is just an AoE knockback. It's a great thing to have for crowd control, and on top of that if you go Champion you can alternate between Blood Fury and War Cry for crowd control.

Warriors also get blood frenzy, it's a decent sustainable but you trade a lot of hp for it's effects. I never liked using it unless I needed something to die...fast...

Warriors ability is the best, Blood Thirst i think. +attackspeed/damage/crit chance/attack(?). Its amazing with a DW warrior. You can add it with a mod if you miss it.

Personally I find the abilities for a warrior next to useless. My PC Warden is a Tank (it's so much fun ^_^) and such abilities are king of redundant seeing as I need to keep my HP as high as possible to...well tank XD. That's my view anyway.

...that and Blood Magic IS EVIL!!!!!
...yet Merill is so adorable <3

It doesn't hurt to have the bonus talents, though I almost never use them, so it doesn't really matter if my wardens drank the potion or not. If I have to delete Warden's Keep prior to Awakening to counter the sentinel armor/vigilange bugs, it's no big loss.

For rp reasons, I usually have my wardens drink the potion as they will do whatever it takes to defeat the blight, even use blood magic. Too bad the new talents don't have more benefit in a practical sense.

Whys your tank being hit for damage you need to heal?

Also Blood Magic isnt Evil, its how its used thats evil.
And personaly as far as evil goes, Blood Magic is the bland vanilla ice cream of evil. Very over rated.

Merrill is adorable, even more so since she talks about my Warden (Mahariel)

For a Warrior Blood Thirst, is not very useful for a Two-hander though the blood knock back is nice for added crowdcontrol. For a weapon and shield warrior its depending on your build useful. aggressive weapon and shield users see a definet benefit particularly with haste and or talent spamming.
Where it see pure gold is in the hands of a duel-wield Warrior where combined with momentum allows you to cap out your attack speed under your own power at .5 and gives +10% crit per strike. Much more effective with duel daggers though.

As for Tainted Blade for Rogues, it adds a good amount of damage if your a Cunning build only.   So Assassin/Bards or Duelist/Bards generaly see the benefit. @ around 60 cunning this is like +17 Damage a attack.
