Hello. First things first... I know all about search functions of forums. I've been yelling at people to use them for nearly a decade. That being said, this website and the forums found here are in the top 5 most un-navigatible websites/forums on the internet. Terrible, terrible, terrible web design.

So, here's my problem.

After a few years since playing ME 1, I decided to play through it a 2nd time. After starting the game, I got the Bring Down the Sky DLC and installed it. Problem is, I can't start any of it. The Asgard system in the Exodus Cluster isn't there. There's only one system in the Exodus Cluster; Utopia.


This is the physical game disc w/ patch 1.02 applied.
Intel core2 Q9450 (2.66 GHz)
DirectX 10
Nvidia GTX260 - 2668MB, driver v. 8.17.0012.6089 (10-08-2010)
Realtek High Def. Audio - driver v. 6.00.0001.6194
Vista 64 4 GB RAM

Execute the Mass Effect program and go to "Configure" (instead of "Play"). When the configuration utility starts, click "Game". There is a list of Mass Effect content and their product keys. Make sure BDtS is listed. If it isn't, then it didn't install correctly.

Ok, so I checked the Configuration Utility like you suggested. BDtS was not listed there. I re-installed the content and still nothing. All I see in the utility when I click on "Game" is:

Version Information
MassEffect.exe v1.00
MassEffectLauncher.exe v1.01
MassEffectConfig.exe v1.02
Uninstall Mass Effect.exe


Any more ideas?

Not sure if it's related or not, but I seem to be missing several other systems and planets...

I was using a map for the Turian Insignias, Prothean Data Discs, and Asari Writings locations and many of them don't exist in my game.

Hades Gamma cluster - Dis system is not there at all.
Horse Head Nebula cluster - Fortuna system not there at all
Styx Theta cluster not there at all
Voyager Cluster - Yangtze system not there at all.


When I say, "Not there at all," I mean that there is no little blue ring saying "Dis" or "Styx Theta" or whatever. Are these locations possibly different from PS3 to Xbox to PC?

Something is wrong with your install. The fact that you have stated you have installed the 1.02 patch, but the masseffect.exe file is only listed as version 1.00 indicates something went wrong.
Did you run the game, BDtS and patch installers as admin? I would suggest uninstallnig the game, then installing (as admin), in this order.
1) Install Game
2) Install BDtS (it includes the 1.01 patch)
3) Install 1.02 Patch

Certain systems wont appear on your galaxy map until youve received intel about them, either via news broadcast in the Citadel elevators, or by hacking terminals scattered around the place.
Dis - Citadel News Broadcast
Fortuna - Hostile Takeover, 2 bosses killed.
Yangtze - Missing Marines quest completed
Styx Theta - Complete Noveria first

Something is wrong with your install.

You sure said it. I uninstalled and then re-installed in the order above and it all looks  good now. I haven't played yet. Going to bed... lol
