I'm confused. I read a previous dev post that said the new weapon you receive will be based on what you are equipped with going in to the DLC. They said it is based on your skills. I have an archer that is built with no points in the archery tree, am I going to end up with a dagger?

If you are an archer, why don't you have points in the archery tree? Not being awkward, just asking.

Gameplay does look better. I like the Huge battlefield feel.

The archery tree really isn't all that useful.  I'm using a shadow archer build that focuses on high crits.

That was fun! (Although I posted about 20 questions and not a single one was answered, but I bet those 900 or so other people were doing the same thing)

I used to (long, long ago) work as a volunteer for Stratics, and had to moderate a few developer chats. You usually end up with about 50 questions for each one that can be asked - everyone has something they're dying to ask. Feel free to ask questions in here, though be advised that we can't guarantee answers ;) We'll try, though!

Every companion has a decent amount of new dialogue. I believe* this will be the first DLC to record new VO for all characters.

Did you get the original voice actors back or hire an impersonator?

It's actually me. I don't know if you've heard, but I do a -fantastic- Varric impression.

Alternately, they're all the original actors.

Oh, I was hoping for someone more like Little Kuriboh. But I guess you'll do.

Are journal entries handled differently in the DLC than they were in DAII itself? What I mean is: do they actually contain any valuable information rather than some short description without much context?

The archery tree is kinda bad, especially on nightmare mode where you need to micromanage around friendly fire for lackluster abilities.

Interested to know this as well.

I got a question. The answer of which will determine whether I bother with this DLC.

I like dungeon-crawls. Who here doesn't? But what I'm craving right now is a role-playing experience. If you had to define this DLC would you define it as

a) a hack and slash with a dash of  story and decision-making sprinkled in??
B) a story/RP experience  with  a dash of hack and slash sprinkled in?

Thank you John.

1) Will the Bonus items of Legacy carry over in new playthrough?

2) Are there new class specific Armor / mage robe within the DLC?

3) Are there different Story arcs or outcome depending the decision that hawke takes?

How about : A story where the gameplay is directly informed by the narrative. As in, your motivation for completing this DLC is entirely story-driven. There's combat, certainly, and no small amount of it, but I feel that most (if not all) fights makes sense within the context of the narrative as a whole. Creatures aren't just being dropped so we can say 'IT'S TIME FOR A FIGHT!'

Of course, everyone's perception of this will be different. But I certainly felt that the story in this DLC was particularly compelling, and woven rather well into the module as a whole.

Is there a specific act which makes the most sense storywise? With the Warden's 'pressing matters', does it make the most sense in Act 2 then, or afterwards at 3? I'm really picky for timelines :D

I liked the demo. It was cool. I was already going to buy the DLC on 1st day. I'm going to look forward on the differences between Chantry lore and Greywarden lore will be intriguing.

1) If you mean after you've played through in a new playthrough, yes. However, you have to acquire the items before you can use them in the base game. Sorry, I'm not certain I understand your question 100%, but any items you acquire in Legacy are available in the main game afterwards. The best way to look at it is that the Legacy side trip happens (chronologically) immediately after you click on the memento statue.

2) I believe so, but I'll have to get someone else to answer that one for sure. I spent most of my time working on the cinematics, and only managed a couple of playthroughs.

3) There's branching, yes. Some minor, some less so. About all I can say without getting into spoiler and Stern Word From Above territory ;)

I think I understand the question.  he's asking if the items in legacy become permanently unlocked in  the  future, Like  how you guys did it with DA:O DLC.

For example.  once you  unlocked the  Battledress of the Provocateur in Lilianna's Song, it forever more becomes "starting gear" in your  warden's inventory in future playthrus.  ie. you didn't have to replay Lelianna song every time you wanted to   to get the battle dress for future DA:O runs.  You just had to unlock it once.

In the video we just saw, Carver was part of the squad as a templar. Now I forgot what act the showing was but if the DLC is started in Act 2 are we able to take the sibling along with us? As Carver mentions being able to leave his duties for a bit.

Thanks.

Oh, I would just kill to get a piece of those sexy Grey Warden armors. For the console user, I mean.

Ahh! Then no, any DLC gear you acquire through Legacy has to be acquired -as- part of Legacy. I think the reason it was done in that fashion with Leliana's Song was because it was an adventure that wasn't really integrated with the Warden's adventure in the same way. Since we were already handwaving as to why you had an item related to an adventure you weren't a participant in, it made it easier to handwave that 'okay, now you always have that gear'.

That's just conjecture, though - not sure what the actual reasoning was behind that decision, but I imagine I'm not too far off.
