Me too. Wednesday I was planning to watch it like the previous demos, but today I totally forgot it. Normally they put the record online later.

I've got to say that the combat is looking enticing in the demo, although I fear I'll miss the tactical camera quite a bit here.

Personally, I found the world, stories and companion characterisation in both games to be rich, engaging and enjoyable and so I'm pleased to hear that Legacy is a lore heavy, story driven module.

I've had problems playing DA2 because the combat really isn't my cup of tea. I hated constant waves of enemies and the way they would ninja spawn randomly behind my mages. It's hard to play a game (no matter much you appreciate the imaginative world and story) when the combat just irritates you. I'll confess to 'killallhostiles'-ing my way through some battles just to get it over with.

After seeing the demo I am feeling very hopeful that Legacy is a game I will enjoy playing........even despite the disappointing omission of any Fenris snogging!  Image IPB

I like the different bits and bobs added to combat, traps, gates, etc. And bronto. He's nice.

Are those enemies getting any bonus from being behind that barricade-thingo? (I thought I saw Hawke "miss" a couple of times. Is that it?)

I couldn't figure out how "reinforcements" are being handled, either. Did enemies run away from the party at the beginning? More people did turn up but I couldn't figure out if they were being triggered from a location instead of just turning up. (Interested, anyway, if there is any further insight forthcoming.)

Oh, and I'm afraid to ask. Will Grey Warden Carver be coming along?

^ Edit: @ House Much as I hate the ability to cast Firestorm on oneself on Hard, he did fight back from the dissonant chord of death with aplomb, in my opinion. *thumbs up*

I have a question. A yes or no shall suffice:

Will Hawke be able to make any choices that will have an impact on the future of the series? Because that's one of Hawke's failing points. He can only make a few decisions that impact Thedas

Will the sibling appear if s/he was Grey Wardened and the DLC is played in Act 2 or 3? From the video it looks they get a temporal leave if gone Templar/Circle.

So long as your sibling is alive, they'll show up. As mentioned, though, the flavour of that appearance will depend on where you are in the story, as well as where your sibling happens to be at that point.

....and what, if my sibling died in the Deep Roads? Will it still be possible to play 'Legacy' without him/her? Just asking, because I'm in the middle of Act 2 (Carver died) and wouldn't want to start again.

From what i understand, you will still be able to play Legacy, but you wouldn't be able to include Carver in your party, and therefore get the acheivement of playing through Legacy with Bethany or Carver in the party.

Question 1: Are we still able to return to the Vimmark Mountains on completion of the DLC? And while visiting the Vimmark Mountains, can we return to Kirkwall to resupply on items only to go back and finish Legacy's storyline?

Question 2: Do charging bronto's also damage unsuspecting hostiles when they're in the way? Or does the encounter's team-based system not allow for these kind of dynamics? It would certainly allow for new strategies during such encounters.

Remark:
It would be nice if the engine supported actions like being able to kick a Carta dwarf off the barricade. Or better yet, use mind blast to push two of them down into the arena. Combined with falling damage and the scenario presented in Q2 you could make short work of them.

I loved that in Witcher 2, with aard.

At the end of that demo, you see mage Hawke mind blasting 2 people near an edge and they don't fall over. (But you made that a remark, not a question, so I guess you know that.)

I agree though. I have no idea how hard it would be to implement, or how maps would have to change to make it happen, but being able to mind blast or stonefist someone over an edge would add something pretty cool to the game, IMO.

Maybe for DA3 the game's engine will have physics added to its list of available technologies.

And I agree, it would add a lot of dynamic to encounters. Imagine being able to shield bash one hostile against another and have them both trip over. Or creating a stonefist towards a group of charging hostiles, knocking them all off their feet as they get hit by the incoming projectile.

Good stuff! I'll make a new topic about this in the general forum to prevent this discussion from going too far off-topic. Image IPB

Every companion has a decent amount of new dialogue. I believe* this will be the first DLC to record new VO for all characters.

Just curious, does that include Sebastian, since he's also dlc?

Yes, Seb's also included. I remember a dev confirming that somewhere.
