This was the base model, off Lenovo's Barnes and Noble-sponsored education site. I plan to upgrade the RAM myself.

I was using a late 2008 aluminum MacBook (not the "Pro" version) for nearly three years now, and I thought it was time to go back to Windows land... And then I saw this deal, and my heart was set. This machine cost less than half what I bought my MacBook for three years ago.

I used to have a Thinkpad way back in the late 1990s (when I was a eight or nine years old), and I really liked how sturdy they were. But, that machine died many years ago, and by the time it died, it was hopelessly obsolete.

Any Thinkpad users here? What do you guys think of them?
