Hey guys,

For a while now I've been recieving an odd graphical glitch that I have very little idea of how to fix.  Here is a screenshot of it:

http://imageshack.us...1071118454.jpg/

As you can see, if you look specifically at the cut off area between my Hawke's hair and the smoke in the background, you can see the graphical oddity there.  This occurs when there is fire in the background, mist (such as Sundermount), smoke as shown in the screenshot etc.  However oddly enough, this does NOT occur with special effects such as electricity (tested it).  I've also tested it on both DX9 and DX11 and it occurs on both of these settings.

Here are my system specs:

Game Version: Latest Patch (1.03).

1. Processor: Intel Core I3 CPU 550 @ 3.2Ghz
Clock speed: 3187 MHz
Ram: 4GB running Windows 7.

2. Display Adapter: AMD Radeon HD 6570M/5700 series.
Vram: 512 MB.
Driver Version: Catalyst 11.6

3. Sound Adapter: Headphones (Cirrus Logic CS4206A (AB-24))
Driver Version: 6.1.7601.17514.

4.  Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium using Service Pack 1.
Directx Version: Dirextx 11 (June 2010) or later.

Details About Problem:

1.  As stated above, there appears to be graphical oddities on the top part of the hair against smoke, fire etc.  Screenshot shows what I mean.

2.  Late March.  I'm unsure if it occurred during my first playthrough however it has been there since my second.

3.  Problem occurs when Hawke's head is against Fire, smoke, water, mist (in Sundermount) etc.

4.  I simply walk to where the head is surrounded by water, smoke etc.  Like in the screenshot.

5.  I have not modified my game in any way.

Any help that could be provided on what the culprit is, how to go about fixing it etc. would be greatly appreciated!  If needed, I can post my DXDIAG information as well.

Updated my original post to follow the stickied "Before anything else".  Also uninstalled and reinstalled the game to see if the problem would disappear.  It did not.  I have a feeling that the problem may be video driver related but I am not 100% sure.

I don't see any outstanding graphical glitch in that screenshot. Can you provide a close-up picture of your Hawke?

Also, Radeon HD 6570m and 5700 series are two VERY different cards. One is weak and not even worth trying DirectX 11 mode on, and the other is decent enough for the "High" setting. Which is it?

Here is a close up:

Check the top part of the hair and you'll notice a lot of it is kind of cut off. Definitely does not look as it normally does when not against water/smoke/fire/etc.

As for the graphics card, I have a 5770M. I do not use DX11 settings, just everything set to high settings (which runs at avg. 40-50 FPS). Why DXDIAG and the Dragon Age 2 config utility detects it as such I am not sure. This is one of the reasons why I think it is possibly a driver issue.

Here is a normal SS of what it should look like to give comparisons:

ATI just got back with me about the DXDIAG detecting my video card as a 6570/5700 series card. Said it was normal and that was my main lead on thinking it was video driver related. Now I am not so sure what could be causing it.
