I've purchased the manual from the dwarf in camp and it has not unlocked Ranger on myself or any of the other Rogues in my party, even though I'm level 10 with 1 specialization point not yet spent. I have got other specializations that ive unlocked available to me, so I know what the skills look like when they're unlocked.  The book isn't available from the seller now either.  I've seen similiar problems being asked on other message boards but no one seems to have a solution...

I purchased the Ranger manual from the camp dwarf, which automatically unlock the Ranger specialization. I have to wait for my next Level Up to spend a specializing point on the Ranger specialization. I do not have a problem with this.

Well I "fixed" the problem by deleting my game save and game data and starting over...if you call that a fix. So far everything has unlocked the way it should, namely bard and ranger which are the only specs I've tried to get so far. No telling what triggered the glitch in my first game, but it doesnt seem like many people are having this problem, hope EA is aware of it and working to correct the issue all the same.

They're not really giving a crap as far as I can tell. I've been fussing back and forth on their technical support about it and the only response I got was this: "I am really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you . The issue you are facing looks to be related to the gameplay mechanics and not exactly an issue with the game. I would suggest that you check our forums for assistance regarding this. You can post your issue there and our developers would also be able to take a look at it."

They basically re-directed me to this forum which it seems like nobody from bioware or EA responds to. Lovely solution eh? I ended up just speccing bard/duelist on my archer just because I got fed up and didn't want to wait for a fix. Hopefully ranger will unlock on my second playthrough :(

I reported an issue with the graphics(framerate stuttering + models and textures almost constantly blinking), before I knew everyone was having problems because I was worried something was up with my ps3 where I've been having some weird things happen lately, and it took them a week to respond. My response was to check my DirectX version, system information and send in my pc specs, etc...when I had reported this as a PS3 problem. Are they trying to make us regret getting the console version? The consoles should be the smoothest platform, it's one of the reasons I prefer it over PC.

Can't they at least send a canned response stating that they are aware of the problem and working to fix it? I'd be happy with knowing they at least acknowledge these issues and aren't totally concentrating on the PC release.

BTW, when you start over make sure to delete your save and game data that way all specs will be available to unlock again.  Contrary to what many people have said, it's not linked to your account, I believe it's just in your save data.  It's still working for me.  I've successfully unlocked every spec I've encountered.

Frankbunny81, they finally responded to me and gave me the same response, it's a gameplay issue and not a bug or glitch in the game. I understand the shear volume of complaints is overwhelming for EA\\Bioware at the moment and I'm completely understanding of the amount of time it takes to respond to each of those complaints, I even understand this apparently isnt a common glitch, but to say this is a non-issue is insulting.

The game is great, I was really looking forward to playing through it again, but I may be thinking twice about hanging onto the game if this is how they plan on dealing with game debilitating glitches that cause you to restart. If they're not going to acknowledge these problems why even bother? I dont enjoy spending what little free gaming time I have replaying an epic RPG like this one because I had an interest in my character, when I could be playing something more rewarding.

I am having the same issue with the Ranger training. I bought the book, but somehow it is no longer in my inventory or for sale from the Dwarf. ...and it isn't unlocked. :^( . I suspect I could open the debug console and use one of the cheat codes to give myself the skill, but it prolly isn't worth it to me.
