There is very little in the way of actual stats explained by this game. Things that say "increases X" or whatever. Ok... increase by how much??? That would help me determine whether to pick it. Anyway, question of constitution. I know you get X points per level, based on class, and contitition adds 5 points of health per point of constitution, but does that 5 points add every level, or just the one time?

Might help

But yes, each level you automaticaly get more health and stamina/mana. Also for each point abouve 10 you attribute give you something. In this case Con for each point gives 5 Hp to your total.
So to answer your question, you get them seperately.

Also BTW, Con is considered a dump stat for almost all character builds. Unless your a Blood Mage then its considered your most important stat.
This is because enemies generaly do more damage then you can ever invest into Con to make a differance without hurting your characters offensive and defensive abilities.

Wiki is wrong, or seems to be. You get a lot more than 5 HP/level if you get Constitution up. I had my Warrior with 51 Constitution have 621 HP, and Oghren with 54 have 642. I'm not sure how it scales, but putting points in Constitution can pay off.I was around level 32/33 with both, so 5 a level should have only added 150.

Re-read it completly.

You get a independant amount of HP per level based on your class.
You also get 5 Hp every time you place a single point into Con seperatly.

In your example your Warrior
51 con - 10 = 41. 41*5=205. So you had a total of +205 Hp added from Con.
Ohgren would be the same cept he would have +220 Hp because he has 3 more Con = 15 more points.

So Your warrior starts with a base 100 health, and gain 6 health per level. @33 you should have 298 health. +205= 503 Hp,  With other Health increasing gear, Specs, Runes or talents (Like powerful which gives +25) you can easily end up with a high hp. amount.

The problem still is your defenses. That health is useless if enemies always hit you due to a low defense score or always do large amounts of damage because of low resistances or armor.
For example several of my warriors have 200+ Defense or 100% Dodge rate and can never be hit by all attacks ecept grabs, and I invested in pure DPS builds.
Matter of Fact I have a Warrior build that does the highest possible damage in the game and is 100% Spell Immune and 100% Dodge.

Also keep in mind we are talking about Origins, not Awakening. Max level there is only 25 and you dont get the benefit of the new things in that expansion (Like Con Runes)

for Awakening though.
I can say though that there is one exeception. A Weapon and Shield Warrior in Awakening gets a Talent called "Carapace" that reduces damage based on Con and a Con of 50-120 will basicaly reduce all the damage in the game down to 0, and is easily obtained from gear.
