I love the Mattock, but it's gotta be brought back in line in 3; it was pretty ridiculous in 2.
I'd also like to see the Avenger beefed up into something more respectable.

Didn't BW already say that the Mattock won't be as strong in ME3? I think I've read that in one of their tweets, but I'm not sure.

No idea. But for ME3 I really hope the weapons are balanced better. I mean in ME2 for assault rifles, it's a very simply case of Avenger < Vindicator < Mattock. (I hope I got the symbols right, haven't done maths at school in a looong time)
Basically there's no question about which weapon you should take, and very rarely is there any particular weapon that is better suited to a mission than any other weapon. Weapons balancing in ME2 was done fairly poorly I must say.

The mattock is the chuck norris of guns. But I can understand why BW would make the mattock weaker in ME3. Why try the new guns out if you have the god of all assault rifles

If it is nerfed in ME3, let me tell you that in ME2, the Mattock, with the damage upgrades and Incendiary Ammo, is the perfect weapon against Scions and Praetorians.

A weapon that isn't as overused as the Mattock or the Revenant would be better for me, because I got so sick and tired of the Mattock during the E3 demo, I want to see something new.

If they weaken it, more rounds have to be included. The Mattock has a smal limited amocapacity while you could shoot mad with the gethrifle (which I like to use in missions with a lots of mechs or geth) because you get a lot of ammo for it. The real imbalance with the mattock is the singleaction mode. singleaction -> Less rounds wasted -> more damage.
It's not like vindicator was bad, too. Befor the mattock, the vindicator was the weapon of choice due to better use of rounds. Less was wasted more got killed.
The one truely imbalanced rifle imho is the gethrifle because of the high amount of ammo you can get of it in comparsion of the damage it deals.

I know i'm the only one in the world but I like the vindicator better than the mattock. But only because it was the advanced assult rifle from ME1. And i'm a suck for the triple burst. From what I played with the Mattock though it was deadly

By the way, the Vindicator is doing more total damage than the Mattock. The Mattock just appears to be more powerful because it does more damage per shot, but the Vindicator has more ammo capacity, and can do more damage in the long run.
Even the Avenger is more powerful that way.

The Revenant should fire even faster - forget the accuracy. Just make it mind tearing fast. Spray pellets everywhere.
The Avenger should be more useful - as good as the Mattock may be, and even if the Revenant ends up being the most fun for me to use, the Avenger is almost iconic, and really sort of a beautiful weapon. It deserves more love.

I really don't understand which aspect of the Mattock people enjoy, as it's a horrible weapon as far as feeling and sounds go. And that design, talk about inelegant.
