No. The Mattock kills quicker depending on how accurate you are and how fast you pull the trigger.

Vindicator = burst fire,

Mattock = semi automatic,

Burst fire > all other firing modes.

Anything but the mattock but personally I find the avenger and the light machine gun more fun to use

I can't run out of ammo for it that fast either.

The geth pulse rifle has more total damage than the Mattock. The geth pulse rifle just lasts longer.

Even the Collector assault rifle can do more total damage and lasts longer than the Mattock.

In fact, Mattock is the only rifle that can't have over a hundred rounds.

Are you suggesting we give the Mattock more ammo? That actually WOULD make it overpowered

Burst fire gives the operator much more control over his/her shots , with the ussage Mass accelerator technology within the weaponry it is always ensured that all shots hit their target  immediately allowing for a much more reliable damage output and accuracy then a obsolete semi automatic weapon.

It's not the damage per shot that makes the mattock too good, it's the lack of recoil, allowing you to drop shot after shot ontop of a dime in rapid succession.

Really that's all the Mattock needs, recoil that allows 1 or 2 shots before you start firing wild.

Then it would be an interesting weapon to use, not place cross hair on face, click left mouse button till health drops to 0, rinse, repeat.

I don't use the Mattock all that much. It's either the Vindy, GPR, or the Rev. Though I do like the Avenger even though it gets passed up by other weapons. In my case, just hadn't found the Mattock's spot in my play style.

While the Vindicare (heh, I always think of the Officio Assassinorium temple when I say that - points if you get the reference!) battle rifle the most out of the original guns, I like the Mattock the most because I think it's the most versatile. I can be efficient with my ammunition and if I'm good, I can maximise my damage with each shot, and I can pull the trigger pretty fast if I want too.

I wouldn't mind seeing more options perhaps with the other weapons, but I don't want to see the Mattock 'nerfed' because if anything I don't think nerfing something is the way to go for a single-player game.

The reason there's no N7 assault rifle is because they are saving it for DLCs. They already have the people that ordered the DE and CE editions would have bought them without an N7 rifle, so they have our money. Assault rifles are more popular for DLCs than other weapons, so they'll release another Firepower pack and rake in more money.

the m8 rifle is the workhorse assault rifle of the alliance military. it IS the n7 assault rifle lorewise.

I love M8. I just wish it would have more accuracy or damage in the next game. It was way overpowered compaired to the other 2 assault rifles.


And Predator handgun is totaly the best gun to use. Fast to shoot and accurate. It reminds me of 9mm guns, I never liked magnums anyhows.

Revenant LMG > Mattock. I also think that the Revenant is Shepard's "canon" weapon since he's a "techno Revenant". Just my opinon though not trying to ****** anyone off.

The Mattock is broken. I only used the Mattock twice after the Collector Ship. Kasumi: Stolen Memory and Arrival. That's not me saying I don't like it but it is overpowered especially for Soldiers and Vanguards.
