 Hello,

I noticed the site nwn.bioware.com doesn't exist anymore. Is it still possible I register my cd keys so I can play online?

AFAIK "registering" on the legacy community forum was never a requirement for playing on-line... using Gamespy, LAN or another server altogether.  The reason I believe this to have been confirmed is that in several cases, players have mistyped the codes (if they didn't just paste from the ini) and still were able to play on-line just fine.  The Bioware "registry" was more a handy place to secure a copy of the keys via email in case one lost the manual and had uninstalled the game than a prerequisite for playing on-line.  While it is installed, the nwncdkey.ini is the source of the key codes.

An easy way to maintain a copy is to simply print out that file and stick it in a hard journal.  Some folks do not like to keep an additional digital copy (gets removed upon uninstallation) due to spyware.

So, go create a MP account and begin playing.  All that is missing is YOU! :D

You gotta be kidding me! Holy ****! And I always thought I had to register my cd-keys at nwn.bioware.com. My cd-key from HotU can't be registered at nwn.bioware.com, so I never could play online. Now I can finally play online with Gamespy, hahahaha.

PS: Right before I join a game NWN says: 'Could not connect to the Master Server, some games may not be available'. What's up with that?

By the way, when I try to play NWN. I have to download some config. files from gamespy. Only it takes forever and eventually gamespy crashes. So I can't play all NWN online games. Could someone help?

I stored both sets of CD Keys here, and now I've lost one, is there a way to find the ones that were on nwn.bioware.com? I used that site like safe storage, only clearly not safe now. I wish they'd told me they were going to wipe stuff, so I could have logged on and backed it up somewhere more reliable, like on a post-it note or something.

Check the email address you used when you registered with EA.  There should have been an email sent there concerning the account hak attack.  Reply to that address requesting that the codes be sent to the email addy on file with the associated account.  If that doesn't work, you will need to contact customer service at EA (assuming that they actually still support customers of NWN).

Hmm. I'm not sure of the answer to that one, but as a heads-up, most people I've seen who play NWN online don't do so through gamespy. They find the server they want to play on's website/login information and hak packs, and direct connect to the server.

I haven't used the gamespy service to find an NWN game since like 2004 (and recently did a reformat and haven't gotten around to reinstalling nwn, so I can't check right now to compare.).

Check out neverwinter connections. (might be nwnconnections.com, but I forget. Just google it)
