I personally don't like the OP's design for two things. The piercings as there are for looks, so it contradicts the Quarian's need to preserve resources etc, and because they aren't pigs who actually need it. The other reason is due to the horns and because the faces generally remind me of an orc/elf hybrid - which not what I want to see every time I see a Quarian face.

Sorry, for the harsh way that it came across, but I couldn't think of any other way to say it.

They aren't just for looks actually, as I've already said but as usual someone didn't bother to read.

Furthermore, that's not harsh. That's the same redudant "she's not purty enough for me!" stuff that prompted me to make my concept in the first place.

I'm pretty sure this has been seen, but it's my favorite. Though, from what I could see through her helmet in ME1, the concepts on this thread are probably more truthful.

Best picture. I hope they end up doing something like that. I know it looks way too human, but hell...

The artist is very talented, but this represents the worst of Tali's fan art.

That is a human girl beneath the mask, not a Quarian.

Why don't we see them through the helmets then?

I like Remmak's new 3D model better than the ones in the initial post. Somehow the narrow chin fits my idea of quarians better, not sure why maybe because it resembles the mouthpiece of the mask more.

The sketches in the initial post are pretty close to my expectations, but the new 3D model feels more unique. Amazing work by the way, it really does look like something that could walk and breathe.

The concepts look better than the model. I quite like the concept drawings.

I agree; I was 'trained' as a line artist and consider myself best at 2-d character design. I've only been working in 3-d for about a year, and this latest Kal model is probably only my 5th or 6th model of a person/humanoid. Still, I think I'm showing nice improvement between my last model and the newer one. This one is moving much faster for me, too.

But yeah, I need to draw more also. Thank you for you comments!

I don't know that anyone is still interested in this, but since I saw this thread it's gotten me back on my little quarian project. I've totally re-done Kal's mesh from scratch and am working on his sculpt right now. Maybe I will even give him a proper texture job this time. Here's a an in-progress pic of his new model:

I'm also doodling some ideas for a female right now. I didn't initially intend to make a female version, though, so it may be awhile before I come up with something I'm reasonably happy with...

I like where this is going, and I like that you're focusing on a male quarian face. Great work!

I agree. I don't like quarians that look like they could be actresses in beauty makeup. Even asari look more alien than this.

Looks a little like Yuuzhan Vong which is fine with me.

Yeah...if the Quarians look anywhere as human I would be very unhappy. We already have one Star Trek specie making the series less we don't need another. Go with the OP's picture or something like that but do not make them a green human.

I just want it to look like this because I want to see the reaction of all the Tali lovers when they find out what they want to make out with looked like this.

http://t0.gstatic.co...qybzaOnbd7lP9b4

Pucker up Tali wants a kiss. x x x

Seems to me that a large amount of people who wanna make out with Tali think she is human looking which to me makes no sense, she has 3 fingers like grey aliens from sightings and glowing oval eyes and her neck is long and thin again like sightings of little grey men. To me she has more in common with little grey aliens from human sighting in life than some romantically inclined fantasy species. Makes no sense for Talis race to look like humans imho at all given the vastness of space and how far away her homeworld was.

I would be dissapointed if even looked too simular to humans. Kind of the same for vampires the girls expect pretty men or handsome with minor change only being couple of sharp teeth when if they existed they would far more likley ressemble bats or leeches which to my knowledge are only species I can think of that drink blood for survival.

well make the face look more human and i'm on board. They are supposed to look very humanoid in apperence and the whole 4 nostril and flat nose thing isn't gonna work because you can tell clearly from their under their helmets that they have noses that are pointed out from their face like humans . and they have hair (or at least the females do) since it's referanced in a creator video. It's a cool concept art though. well done. I'd totally be fine with the male looking like this, but female...no

@OP. Concept is interesting. The only thing I'd say is that the nose is simply all wrong. It is very clear from ME1 & 2, even if it is a place holder, that Tali has a very prominent nose. Even, dare I say Russian-esque. *I can talk about big noses because I have one*

I like it a lot, though I disagree with what a lot of people are saying and think that hair isn't necessary, I mean, thinking about it, humans seem to be the only species we've seen so far that have hair.

And Quarian biology seems to suggest they evolved in a similar manner to asari/turians, so something equivalent to the Turian or Asari fringe is actually quite acceptable to me.

Bioware should buy rights to this.

The only problem with that rendition and is a problem a lot of art, forgets is that Quarians seem to have a dominant nose to the rest of their face. Flat noses don't make sense.

from what I can see through the helmet in ME2, seems the quarians have human/asari shaped noses and human/asari shaped eyes (eyelids). I like all the concept art in this thread, but I suspect the design is already nailed down.

from what I've seen they actually have quit big noses this could be to make them more prominent in their visors tough

10 pages is a lot to shift through :). could you point me to the correct post/page?

Also, i agree with another poster that the drawings look much better than the model, but my main critism is the orc/elf hybrid like resemblence.

Quarians should look like Darth Vader after his unmasking in RoTJ.

A guy I follow on deviantart did this pic though:

I find it funny that you say they look like an elf hybrid when the defining feature of elves is their ears...and my quarians have no ears at all. lmao Furthermore, orcs had nothing to do with. If you had bothered to read this thread, you would have seen the post where I mention being inspired by starfish (and other things like sea urchins, hence the spiney bits). The four-nostril thing I sort of did randomly and liked it, but since this thread has been going on, I remembered where I'd seen something like it and the whole nose-cover/clip thing before.

Any Farscape fans in here?

Ah hey. Pretty good. I could totally chill with this.
