This is really good work but...
BioWare has I plan for Tali's face and quarians in general, I just know it.
Lets just let them implement their own design.
It will make me happy whatever it is.
:D

No they dont. They really dont.

I personally believe that Quarians resemble Turians... because they resemble Turians. Palms - check. Knees - check. Feet - check. Fingers - check. Top shoulders/waist ratio for males from all existing species - check. Minus breast and, likely, skin structure.

I could be considered a "fan boy" and I don't think this face is that bad... After the rumours and possibilities of quarians never showing their faces, this face would be more than enough to please me. You could say I'm not really as crazy as some "fan boys", but even that quarian that is accused of stealing the credit chit from the volus would be nice as a LI. If I could, I would have said something like: "Eating nutrient paste in a turian shelter? No way! Come here baby, I have a big ship and I'll protect you." Lol, I know, it was ridiculous... But quarians "girls" make me feel like protecting them. They are like nerdy/shy/cute girls from high school (despite the fact that I never met one of those in my high school times). Cr*p, I'm only near to my 30's and I'm already becoming an old pervert...LOL....

Why should asari? Why should drell? Both were specifically designed to be attractive. It's way too late for Bioware to play the "aliens shouldn't be attractive" card.

The feeling is mutual here, trust me! They have s/thing about them which just makes you leap at them! A protective leap, of course. *cough*

Now, back to topic! Gotta say I really like the work I've seen so far in this thread. The look is not too alien or too scaly but definitely alien enough to make you see how different they are. Different. But still cute! Kinda... Er...

I love it, absolutely fantastic.

Not sure it would appease the ppl who want more of an alien look to Quarians, but for my money its way more foreign or alien looking than Asari or Drell are.

They arn't as ugly as you think...or ugly at all. They just look alien. It's more like they just look different. If Tali looked like the TC pic, I really would not mind. It's not ugly to me, just alien. Sould Bioware make all alien look like the human ideal of beauty? Should they change Turian to be more attractive looking to humans just because they want a female li character?

Sorry, couldn't let this one pass. The turians already have an established look, so no they shouldn't change them. The quarians are quite literally a blank slate at this point. It's not even close to the same. Terrible rhetorical argument.

But he makes a valid point. Don't make them appealing to us just for the lust's sake. Make them alien looking.

It's not a valid point at all. Turians have an established visual identity. Quarians do not. Quarians aren't being "changed" after the fact. It's not the same situation at all. Additionally, both asari and drell were specifically designed to be visually appealing and attractive, with a bit of exotic flair. Bioware have already made the decision to be open to that direction in character design. As I said earlier, it's way too late to pull out  the "aliens shouldn't be appealing" card. Bioware have already willfully, intentionally, knowingly crossed that line.

Yes, it is. Your past state was, "Bioware already did the Beautiful alien route so they can't back out now and do an alien looking alien route." NowI never said they should change the look for Turians, just that turians are an example of a very alien looking humanoid that also had a LI character. "So Garrus can't work as a LI because he looks to alien?", Is basicly what your saying if you think the pic posted can't work for Quarians because one is a LI. Basicly, Tali is an alien...She should look like an alien, and the pic posted looks like aliens, not humans with different things added on. They look similer enough to be accepted by humans but not too alien look to be desgusted by humans. It works. The whole thing about it not being beautiful enough to be Tali is completly astranged by the fact that she is alien and alien have different consept of beauty all together and look different from Humans. Just because Bioware did 2 races that are ment to be attractive does not mean they can make really alien humanoids LI, like Garrus.

So you're just afraid that they make the Quarians too good looking for us humans or what..? I mean I dare say we want the same thing, right? Just because they make most of the aliens 'interesting' for us doesn't mean they'll do the same with the quarians? Or would you say that they're going to make bunnies with full lips and huge glowing eyes -- begging for a kiss?

I don't really care what they do with the quarians. I think it was a retarded idea to hide them from the player in the first place, even though almost everyone in the galaxy knows what quarians actually look like (aside from the hillbillies who've never been off the homeworld, who think quarians are cyborgs.)

What I am saying is it's ridiculous to expect Bioware to live up to some higher artistic standard and integrity, when they've already shown not once but twice that they're perfectly willing to indulge in the creation of fanservice races. They're not above cheap titillation, like it or not, that's just how it is.

I think the way to go at it , is to look at quarian sculptures... as we don't have any we go for the next best thing...

Geth... no i'm not suggesting quarrians have flashlights for faces... they have two glowing eyes and a human nose... we can see that much. But what we cant see is anythign surrounding that area.

I bring the geth up only because the quarrians -made- them , you can see the similarities in their physique... three fingers, backward bending legs....

Now what we know of Quarrian evolution is that they evolved as a pollenator for plants on their home world. They probablly orginated on all fours.. that explains the backward facing lower legs...and long necks..

Mammalian in nature... because..well they have breasts, breasts on females aside from -fun- are used to feed the young...

Mammals have -hair- mostly and so do most things that pollenate as they collect pollen via hair..

If i were to design, i would mix up "legions head plates" with hair under it.. I'd also assume that as the only species on the world that fell to the pollenator task, there were no other types of animal to consume on this homeworld... hense quarrians are probablly herbavores and maybe even pollen drinkers.. which would require a nifty flexible tongue.... ((moar fun))

This is a hypothesis rather than a theory as not all the info is in... but I would also suspect that skin coloring would be white ((not caucasian)) but pure white, just because of the lack of sunlight...and the fact that facial features are still visible through dark visors... you just need very very light skin to see it through a polarised glass dome, if their skin was dark, you'd only see the glowing eyes through the mask...

It could be done to look asthetically pleasing, however I don't have mad drawing skills, but hell we already going to know that tali can't get away from that loonnng neck..

as for the lower jaw, I should think it's more pronounced and forward jutting like the mask that contains it.

That's forming a hypothesis based on limited data, so It's not a theory by any standard..
